2012-2013 early resigning projections

UFAs:

Jagr
Lappy
Bett's salary is gone.
Carle
Coburn
Leighton
Backlund
Jancevski
Bacashihua

RFAs:

Voracek
Lots of AHLers - of particular note:
Z
Holmstrom
Sestito
Testwuide

Trades:
Bob, possibly

Who do you guess resigned and for how much?

Obviously, Jagr and Voracek are going to be contingent upon how well they play this year. Does the organization hold onto Carle? Coburn? I would think they hang onto both, with Kimmo and Pronger putting on another year and with Kimmo's hints here and there that retirement is at least on the horizon. Coburn and Carle are both going to want raises. Do they free up enough space to chase Suter, perhaps making one of them expendable? And how much, ballpark, can Jagr be resigned for if he has the year *optimists* see in store for him?

Let's hear it.

If Carle wants something like 5 mil, I say no.

There ya go, also i think if Suter is available they go after him hard. Make a trade for his rights before or at the draft.

In theory, if you could give Jagr's money to Carle and Coburn as raises and landed Suter:

Pronger
Kimmo
Carle
Coburn
Mez
Suter

Good God.

Under what circumstances does the organization try to keep Jagr?

50 points, helping Roo vault into the stratosphere, and being a positive influence on the youth movement enough? 3 million? Acknowledgement he declining in value every year?

60 points?

stupid idea. there's absolutely no need to have a defense core like that. distributing ice-time for 6 players that all expect top 4 minutes wouldnt be easy

you need to replace Jagr with someone up front

Bring Z up. Kimmo may retire. Then you would have that defensive core for one year only before Kimmo retires. Still stupid? I'm not being smart. Just curious.

Z scores in his first NHL game, and now he's already ready to replace Jagr's potential production?

You dream general.

Either Kimmo retires or they ship out Carle and replace him with Suter. One or the other would work. Let Jagr go, I'm sure this season is all he'll need to pass on his work ethic and tips to the younger guys. That's close to 8 mil, trade Hartnell if he doesn't turn it around. Possibly sign a cheaper power forward from somewhere (Glencross). Maybe sign Ignla if the Flames let him go. Might be another good vet to have for a year or two for the younger guys.

Nah. The idea is more along the lines of: Z moves into the NHL in a limited role and Schenn / Coots tries to replace that production-- plus other players growing (Read, Simmonds, etc) to replace that point production lost.

I wouldn't expect Z to replace Jagr.

UFAs:

Jagr gone or resign for the same
Lappy retires
Betts retires
Carle resign 4,0
Coburn resign 4,0
Leighton gone
Backlund gone
Jancevski gone
Bacashihua gone

RFAs:

Voracek -> resign 3,2 or used at trade deadline or on draft day

Lots of AHLers - of particular note:
Z -> resign 2way contract
Holmstrom -> resign 2way contract
Sestito -> resign 2way contract
Testwuide ->resign 2ay contract

Trades:
- Bob used at trade deadline or on draft day.
- Hartnell if a team want to pay a first rounder for him, or in exchange for a D Prospect!

I think they resign both Carle and Coburn and go after a replacement for Timonen in the Draft or after Timonen has retired. Before that you have to much Dman in your lineup to get a very good piece because you can´t give him enough minutes of playing time.

I only can imagine to take a stay at home defenceman to play the majority of PK to sit Timonen or Pronger more and they can rest a bit more.

Bett's salary is gone. - Not re-signed
Carle - If we can get him for less than 4M, maybe re-sign him. If we get Suter, forget about it.
Coburn - I'd say re-sign for at least 2 or 3 years.
Leighton - Let this ****er be gone.
Backlund - Gone. Probably to Europe.
Jancevski - Don't care.
Bacashihua - Don't need him.

RFAs:

Voracek - At least two more years
Lots of AHLers - of particular note:
Z - Two way for at least another 2 years
Holmstrom - I'd say re-signed at least another year.
Sestito - We could afford to lose him.
Testwuide - Hopefully he gets traded, because I think he can be a 4th line guy on another team.

Trades:
Bob, possibly - Don't think he's gone at all.
There added to it.
