I agree. It's the exact feeling I get when I'm watching games. They look like headless chickens running everywhere on the ice and that imo is a sign of barrier between coaching staff and players.

Anyways, you might wanna change your Erik Cole avatar next time you bash him

Unless you haven't figured it out, the second PP unit is.... wait for it..... Pacioretty-Desharnais-Kostitsyn.

You have to juggle the lines when guys get hurt (Gomez) and other guys probably shouldn't be playing (Cammy).

I'm not sure you understand what a power play is. You need a playmaker on the point, that is the main requirement of a guy on the blue line on the power play. One guy to tee it up (Subban) and one guy to make plays (Plekanec). Why do you think our PP has always been godly when Markov is around? Because he is a playmaker.

Doesn't mean it'll work with Plekanec, but this isn't necessarily the moronic move that everyone claims it is. He'll get a chance to make more plays here than behind the net.

And the last time Cole was on the PP he set up a beautiful SH goal. Something tells me him sucking for 6 games isn't going to make him throw in the towel 6 games into a 4-year contract. He'll get better.

Looks like you missed the (obvious) part that says Pleks will take the faceoff then drop back to the point. At least find something legitimate to complain about.

I'd put Eller on the point and Plek instead of Darche.

Eller has to get more ice time from now on, especially if Gomez is out for a while

I know, I know - in Carolina he never produced on the PP blah blah blah. But this isn't Carolina, and I've never heard of powerplay time hurting a player.
To be fair, Cole has looked putrid on the PP so far. A series of missed passes, wide shots and hesitation. I understand what JM is trying to do. He wants a screen. An inmovable object in front of the net. So far Darche has been willing and semi-able.

JM is not a creative coach offensively. So when things aren't working out he'll always go back to the ABC of what he believes should work. I don't agree with it, but he is what he is, a coach who knows and works on/from a defense first approach.

Exactly, they had Staal, Skinner and Jokinen last year which all had great seasons and probably didn't need to use Cole on the pp. With the contract the Habs gave him you would think they give him all the chances in the world to make it work
No, Cole sat on the power play because he's terrible there and has been terrible there throughout his career. His offense is always come from even strength, which is why he has value to the Canadiens. Darche has a better power play track record.

Any bets on when JM will try his favorite player DD on the point since he seems to love giving the guy so many minutes.. Actually if DD doesn't work out he can try his 2nd favorite player Darche back there.. How DD and Darche get so much PP time is beyond me but that's why I'm not a NHL coach I guess..

I'd put Kostitsyn on the point on the second wave, move Weber up, and put Plekanec back up front.

Cammy - Pleky - Gio
Subban - Weber

Eller - DD - Patches
Kostitsyn - Diaz

Well if we're not going to score on the PP, might as well do it in style.

Nah.

Martin will double shift Desharnais on the PP over Eller.

DD has tremendous hockey sense, vision and hands. I'd rather have him on the PP than anybody else. 5 on 5 I'd prefer Eller though.

Upcoming position changes from JM...

- Desharnais in net (JM really liked that JC Petit commercial and thinks it was real)
- Price at point on the PP WITH his goalie stick.
- Picard as head coach (he reminds JM of an older & less brilliant version of himself)
- J Martin as commentator (someone has to describe these moves and why JM is so brilliant)

Price might just work on the point, I hear he has a sick slapshot!

Well he got PP time, over 2 and a half minutes per game. He just did absolutely nothing on the PP (3 goals).

The thing is, he's just not good on the PP. He was brought here to score 5 on 5.

Complaints about the PP lines are legitimate, but I fail to see how Cole is the answer to that problem. Unless the last few years have simply been a fluke.

Drache and Desharnais on the PP, Kostitsyn, Gionta, Cammy, Pacioretty, Eller, Cole, (Gomez). seven guys right there who actually deserve it and could help it..On the point you can have Subban, Diaz, Webber, Emelin. JM likes Darche and Desharnais too much and they get way more ice time than they deserve, especially Darche. Why on earth does Drache get more ice-time than ERIC COLE?

Dont get me wrong, i hate on Cole, but i always loved Moen and i was saying previously how Moen is better than Cole but one of the poster didnt agree. What i was saying is that Cole has no puck control, no stickhandling skills and no strength. On the other hand, you have a player like Moen that uses greatly his body, knows what is his role and does it perfectly...everytime Cole is on the ice, NOTHING HAPPENS, or he gets poke checked or he gets hit or he takes 2min to get out of our zone.

And you are right, ill change my avatar...hopefully thats better.
