Jeff Carter coming around?

Are these last few games a sign for Carter to maybe turn the corner and for Hitch to give him another chance on a scoring line. This kid has game.

I mean tonight against the sens i see his icetime was back up to 9:29 and he had a goal, 5 shots and was a +1 rating. He also had a pretty good game against Florida with a goal and 3 shots. I don't really count the Carolina game because that was marred by penalties and he isn't a killer so his icetime took at hit that game (4:31).

I feel its about time to give him another chance on a scoring line to maybe jumpstart him even more?

Thoughts.....??

well, its only been 2 games but he does look alot better. he has that jump in his step and definitely stood out(in a good way) against Ottawa.

supposedly, he has been recovering from mono and has been fighting fatigue, so the healthier he gets, the better he will play. I hope that he is over the hump and on his way back because if he can get stronger, his skating will be an asset for us. this style of play fits him like a glove.

Having him play center can only help.At one point I thought the announcers said he'd won 75% of his faceoffs.

If I remember correctly Jeff has always been a slow starter, even in juniors.

Next step would be to make him part of the PP.

movin' on up?

With Primeau out now indefinitely, this could be the chance for Carter to step in and make an impact.

You were right that Carter has always been a slow starter. I have followed his junior career quite closely and the first 2-3 weeks of the season are usually his least productive.

So lets cross our fingers and hope he steps into a scoring roll for the Flyers.

Well great then... maybe he could now pick Primeau's spot... altought having Savage for a winger may not be an upgrade.

Faceoffs

Carter also won 14 of 16 faceoffs he took last night. Maybe look to see him on PP#2 just for faceoffs. That would be key in the offensive end because winning teh faceoffs would get puck position on the PP's just like that!

How could you move to the wing a guy that is able to win about all is faceoffs in the NHL? Hitch will put him back centering a line for sure from now!

It's about time he started to come around. I hope in the game against Washington he will score a couple. If that game is too easy I'd rest Forsberg too.. Let Umberger show us what he is got. Is Keith day to day? Or is it more like 10 games?

He's played very well and is diserving of more ice time. Good to see that he is coming around, he's speed certainly helps the team.

He seems to have a little more swagger to his game. I just hope he gets more minutes. I was def in favor of sending him down as he wasn't doing anything, good for him he has turned the corner now he needs solid pp time and more than 8 mintes a night.

I bit on him in the 6th round...yikes. I think maybe I was expecting a little much. Gagne was a projected from 70-90 and went only 5 picks before Jeff. Luckily I snagged him back just prior to the Ottawa game. He defintely gets a huge Fantasy upgrade with no Preems, although that's pretty bittersweet.

One word- Umberger- clearly this is the wakeup he needed. I thought he skated well and probably would have assisted on a Brash and Sharp goal if he wouldn't have been so excited with the flow of the game. He is getting better but clearly with Umberger up it is the pressure push he needed
