Well done Pekka. I'll take it, definitely an improvement over some of our last efforts.

Man, does Rinne deserve that shutout or what.

EDIT: Well it looks like the sky is still there after all.

Nice to see Suter getting some recognition on the Flames feed, was the third star.

Wow. It really happened, and with a shutout. I'm glad I watched.

So glad we got the win, hopefully our season will get back on track. But MAN, I can't wait until Fisher and Erat are back plus i'm pretty sure after this seasons lack of offensive prowess so far, Poile will be scouting around for any good trade oppurtunities. I hope....

Much-needed 2 points. Not the best effort, but definitely something to build on. Could just be me wanting to see a trend, but the guys looked like they loosened up and finally had that elephant pulled off their back after the SK goal.

Peks with the shutout, Blum with a miracle save and McGrattan with an nice assist on the 1st. We'll take it.

Only 4 minor penalties ... an improvement.
52% of the faceoffs is deceiving. Good at the dots in the neutral zone, terrible in the defensive and offensive zones.
Few shots on goal, but made them count. 22 additional missed/blocked attempts.

7 GP, 7 pts, 3-3-1. Ugly wins count just as much as pretty ones.

I was being coaching a game of my own, so I missed it, but still...we were outshot 14-33, even in a win. Peks stole this one. We still have been outshot in every single game this year. Ill take a win, but thats not a sustainable thing.

Like others have said, it was a ugly win. But a win. I really want to see Smith on the top line again. We scored goals when he was and since he was taken off we havent been really. With Fish and Erat back these are the lines.

Wilson-Leggy-Smith
Sk-Fisher-Hornqvist
Halischuk-Geoffrion-Erat
Spaling-Smithson-Tootoo

It feels odd having Erat that low, but for me it would make sense especially since hes coming back from injury as well. Those top 2 lines have shown the most consistency especially from what we saw last year.

Does anybody else feel like an early expansion team whenever we only have 12 or 14 shots on goal?

Ugly win. Not a surprise. Rinne was great. Lucky first goal that changed the game's complexion. Blum with a great goal saving play that normally wouldn't have worked. Still got tremendously outplayed most of the game. Somehow 3-3-1, 7 points in 7 games. Cool man. On our way home and looking to "continue this momentum" I guess. I'll take what I can get.

A win is a win... but Rinne has stolen all three wins this year. Gotta get the guy help.

He is the most valuable of the big 3

NHL.com headline: "Rinne-sance Man" Honestly, I couldn't come up with puns that bad.

This isn't rugby, so a win is a win. This particular win puts us back at .500 and we've got games against Tampa Bay and San Jose teams both off to rough starts. This is a chance to really get ourselves up in the standings and buy a little cushion.

Is no one else concered that our shots were doubled AGAIN. we had 14 shots. FOURTEEN. Rinne stole the game for us (with some help from Blum), but we cant rely on that. I'll take the win, but this doesnt mean our problems are over.

Our offense looks really really bad right now. Our transition game is just pitiful. We will improve with Fisher and Erat back in the lineup substantially, but this team is really struggling right now. We have a lot of growing pains to get through.

It's concerning, but there were more than a few good chances that were blocked or missed the net. I'm more concerned by the inopportune penalties and the sometimes stupid passes while pinned in our zone.

He made a nice pass on a 2-1 that gave us a 2-0 lead. It was pretty sweet.
