They are 33 (Sturm) and 34 (Samuelson). I don't think this is too bad necessarily, get some veteran help, Samuelson is good defensively and a pretty decent playmaker. Sturm of course has been battling injuries so he's just a throw in although if healthy he can be a force.

Plugs to get through the season. They are on expiring contracts, so I guess we are opening up a spot for a young guy next season?
A-freakingmazing... I really didn't see this coming, cannot be happier.. Samuelsson and Sturm are going to be 100x more effective them Booth.. I am sure I don't need to explain my displeasure in Booth, as you all know
Doesn't seem like a good return for Booth. Surprised we Panthers had to give up the third as well. The only reason I can really see for this trade is the reduced contract lengths that we are getting in return.
Kind of surprised, but I had a feeling something like this was going to happen. Seeing a fan favourite go is never fun, but lets be serious, Booth hasn't lived up to that contract (you can't use the argument "he's a heart and soul player" as justification forever) Obviously it sucks what happened with the concussion, but other than that, this just gives the Panthers more flexibility cap wise. Also, Samuelsson and Booth will likely end up putting up similar numbers, so I don't see us losing much production wise.
Could tell Booth was a ghost this season, Santorelli wouldn't of made a world of difference. Booth, as stated above is one dimensional. Love the kid, loved his passion before the injuries but I am glad we are turning the page on this.
I believe Florida may be looking to flip both those 2 at the deadline, so the deal will look much better then. I just don't get why the 3rd was involved...

Samuelsson will be more effective on the PP. I agree, the way Booth was playing he wasn't going to put up more than 40 points and Samuelsson should be able to match that.

Wow, so happy.
Clearly you haven't watched Sturm much in Vancouver. There's a reason he's been a healthy scratch in favour of plugs like Weise and Volpatti. He's been completely and utterly useless in every way. Samuelsson can be effective but he's very streaky, both offensively and defensively.

Yes, but is Marco Sturm signed for 4 more years at 4.25?
