Turris to Canucks

Eklund said they would get Turris if they'd made a deal with Panthers.
The deal is already done, now we only need to know if Turris is true.

We have no need for Turris though. It makes no sense.

The only reason it's even a rumor is cause Turris is from BC.

Matters what for, assuming the 3rd is added.

Also, Canucks getting back their own 3rd rounder allows them flexibility to present an offer sheet if they so choose. They "bought" the pick

I thought that was interesting

You got to think he has some sort of a source if he called that they would be trading with Florida.

That's interesting about the offer sheet.

Do they even have the cap space to make an offer?

Or maybe Booth will get shipped again...

I doubt there will be anyone more trades today.

On another note, Since Reinprect is in the minors... Van has 1 free roster space right now.

Turris wouldn't make any positive impact on that Vancouver squad. He wouldn't have a place on the forward lines right now.

Raymond is definitely expendable.

Also just to add more fuel to the cauldron.

Both Hodgson and Manny Malhotra did not play the third period today.

edit: Fuel to the cauldron... sigh I meant fire.

Do they have room to make an offer that is both small enough to fit yet large enough not to be matched?

awful deal for us. Turris will be absolute garbage on our team, and we have zero need for Morris.

Stupid for the Canucks, and I'm a Coyote fan. Morris has been awful and isn't cheap for a 6/7 guy. Ballard is a bad contract, sure, but why not just boil it down to Schneider for Turris straight up? I'll include LOLbarbra if you want.

Hodgson and Malhotra would be an amazing return.

Dont think Raymond is on LTIR yet but he can be placed there retro-actively.

Gross. If I'm Gillis, I don't give up one of those guys for Turris and Morris.

Not sure where the offer sheet speculation is coming from.

We got our 2013 3rd back, ANA has our 2012 3rd from the Lappy trade.

The 2013 pick is the one needed to make an offersheet this summer.

Canucks have 87k in cap space but can go at most 5.2M on top of that over the cap because they would just put Raymond, Bitz, Rome, Sulzer on LTIR and send Ebbett to the minors.

in a week or 2 if Pinizzatto does get his 4th line roster spot he seemed to have earned before he got injured that 87K becomes almost 100K if they send Volpatti down as well.

With a 21 man roster (12F 7D 2G) when everyone but Raymond and Bitz are back the Canucks have 4.44M in cap space to use if Bitz and Raymond are put on LTIR as well as Sulzer and Ebbett sent down.

They'll save at least 800k so Sulzer wont have to be put on waivers without having to send anyone else down and when Bitz returns one of Weise or Pinizzatto is sent down and they are still just barely under the cap like right now.

Raymond won't be back until at earliest Jan/Feb so realistically the Canucks have 3.64M to play with and with one roster spot open. Once Raymond comes back will have to clear 2.5M

If the Canucks do acquire Turris i see Hodgson being sent down because one of Hansen, Hodgson, Malhotra, and Turris wont be on the 4th line or a healthy scratch. So thats 1.66M out of the 2.5M cleared up for Raymond leaving only under 900K left to clear in which case I see Tanev being sent down and the Canucks runnign with a 22 man roster.

Ballard has been playing well but I thought Canucks fans want to get rid of his contract.

There is only room for one "Lappy" nickname... Lapierre isn't that guy.

I see them asking for hodgsn

With Booth and maybe Turris joining the team--Hodgson slips way down the chart

Those were the fickle Canuck fans

the knowledgeable ones knew if the coach AV gave him a fresh start this year he would regain form as he isn't coming off an injury and adjusting to a brand new system like last year
