Well sticking Giroux with Hartnell and Jagr killed that line, and JVR, Read and Voracek just didnt seem to have much chemistry.

Seriously, Hartnell should be on the 4th line.... it just seems senseless to do it because of all the cash the dude takes home without earning.

I blame Doop. Terrible goal song.

The lines I would like to see :

Simmonds - Giroux - Jagr
Voracek - Briere - Hartnell
JVR - Schenn - Read
Nodl - Couturier - Talbot

Giroux and Jagr chemistry is good, but I think that JVR and Jagr are both the same "type" of player (protecting the puck, size, etc), Simmonds would fit very well to take the rebounds, rush the net, screen.

2nd line : HBL with Leino replaced with Voracek, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

3rd line : JVR deserves to be top 6 IMO, but it's for the team... he can protect the puck and skate very well, could help Read and Schenn

Nodl - Couturier - Tabot : actual 4th line, and it's a good one.

So, any chance Lavi will just play Hartnell with Briere against the Leafs? Worth a shot before we just drop Hartnell to the 4th line...

Hartnell doesn't belong in the top 9; he is a liability on any line other than the 4th.

What a joke. Remember, last year? like 5-6 month ago. Nah, he sucked for SEVEN games, now he's a 4th liner.

Three duds of the game
3: Voracek, countless turnovers in the first period and then became invisible.
2: Bryz, soft goals and that fourth goal allowed was terrible. Wouldn't blame Coburn for that.
1: Hartnell, no explanation needed.

I'm tired of seeing Couts on the 4th line, if he's still there once the first 9 games are up I am going to be one pissed off camper.

JVR - Giroux - Jagr
Voracek - Briere - Simmonds
Schenn - Couturier - Read
Hartnell - Talbot - Nodl

I'd give Hartnell a few more games to hope he can get going and if not I'd start calling around the league to try and dump him for a pick and maybe a defensive prospect. If that can happen I'd bring up Rinaldo to take his spot.

That sounds like a pretty knee jerk reaction, we're only 7 games in and this combination for some reason still hasn't been tested.

It's a 'What have you done for me lately' league. He was given a chance to shine in preseason and the first few games in regular season and he didn't seize his chance to stay there. It's time to test out other players in his spot and see what they can do. How many games does Hartnell have to cost us before we can start thinking about benching/4th lining him?

Last season we had a different team. Hartnell has limited puck, playmaking and scoring skills. He is a good forechecker, he crashes the net well (when he actually does it) and he can bang in some rebounds around the net. This season, we have more players with better skill sets, in particular Couturier. Couturier should be on a scoring line; he has a better skill set than Hartnell, as does nearlly everyone else currently on the roster. This season, he is a 4th line player on this team.

He is a very expensive 4th line player, which is where I see him most effective on this team. He could play on a 3rd line or maybe even a 2nd line on some other team, maybe. It would be better to trade the dude, and try to get a decent return in the process.

On the other hand, I really think he would be a very effective 4th line player on this team; so I don't really have a problem with us keeping him so long as we can swing it under the cap, which it appears we can, at least for now. I really don't like his salary hit, though.

But seriously, Hartnell needs to be a 4th line guy. And honestly, even Rinaldo knows how to stay on his feet and not fall to the ground better than Hartnell.

Someone mentioned Simmonds and Schenn, then how about this:

JVR-Giroux-Jagr
Voracek-Read-Briere
Couturier-Schenn-Simmonds
Hartnell/Rinaldo-Talbot-Nodl

I want JVR with Schenn.

Read-Giroux-Jagr
JVR-Schenn-Briere
Simmonds-Couturier-Voracek
Hartnell-Talbot-Nodl

I think that's going to be the most balanced line up. It's so hard finding the rights combo for this team. There's just so many possibilities and so few certainties since there is no true chemistry yet.

I would also try this:

Couturier-Giroux-Voracek
JVR-Schenn-Jagr
Simmonds-Briere-Read
Hartnell-Talbot-Nodl
