Three stars? Can't find them.

The Good: Lundquist
The Bad: The team.
The Redden: The fact that Wade Redden may have been the best Ranger in action tonight. Had a good game vs Springfield.

Its one of many things that Torts does that pisses me the @#$# off. Its one thing to talk to your players in the locker room or after the game but to completely pull them from the game...Its absurd.

2-2-2 now on our season starting road trip.

A win in Winnipeg on Monday would be a great help. As has been said, team should be well rested.

When you generate only a half dozen scoring chances AT BEST in a game, you are asking to get beat.

One of the worst game I have ever witnessed under the Torts regime. The PP was worse than usual, with a team that was afraid to shoot in a ****ing 5-3! Are you kidding me! All last year I was yelling for them to hire a PP coach, Torts and Sullivan are awful with the PP. Something needs to give Sather.

Not a single player on this team besides Gabby and Richards can hit the net consistently, couple that with Torts aggressive style where our players are supposed to pinch it was only a matter of time before our d-men get caught and a faster team like the Oilers makes us pay.

We need to add a d-man who can log top 4 minutes asap as MDZ needs to be in Hartford and EC/Newbury can go there as well. Would be nice if this team played with some or any passion, all the forwards who got new contracts have been nowhere to be be found Boyle, Cally, Dubi, Arty, and Feds

Hank and Gaborik are the only players who showed up to play tonight

Why am I even reading this thread? Based on all of the comments, you would think only one team was on the ice and they beat themselves.

It's time for all of us to go to sleep I think.

one of the worst ranger games i have ever seen post lockout. inexcusable effort. purely pathetic. pp was utterly disgusting. the coaching was god awful. z minuses all across the board minus hank and gaborik. dubinsky i could go on and on about. did anismov or christensen even play tonight? worst game ive seen from callahan. such a bad performance. plus no giants tomorrow so i guess im stuck watching the jets. enjoy the rest of the weekend guys. hopefully this team does major soul searching on the way to winnipeg.

Stepan to me had an eventful game and grabbed the third star. Biggest victory of the night was that Lundqvist does not have a serious injury.

If we're into fire coach mode 6 games in then I am out.

Have a peaceful evening.

Roadtrip is still a success, TO ME. I wanted at least four points. No athletes (except for Hank, it seems) is built to travel 16,000 miles and god knows how many time zones...

They played like ****. No excuses. But, again, we have 76 games left.

Torts' style of coaching is really starting to piss me off. Our problem has always been an inability to score, yet he doesn't coach to rectify that. He instead obsesses over grinders and thus gets less than 20 shots a game out of his team. It's an embarrassment.

How is it possible that offense has been our problem for this long? It's just getting tiring at this point.

1st - Gaborik
2nd - Lundqvist
3rd - Prust

Good - Henrik's injury is nothing serious, Gaborik continues to play well.

Bad - Our power play.

Redden - Callahan / Dubinsky / Tortorella

Callahan, Dubinsky and Anisimov are detriments to the team this season. After Callahan and Dubinsky inked their $4+ million contracts, they're playing some of the worst hockey of their careers thus far. These three players need to pick it up substantially.

Tortorella continues to be clueless. What have Callahan / Dubinsky done to earn PP time over Christensen, Anisimov, etc, We don't need grinders on our PP. Christensen has proven effective on the PP in the past.

Secondly, what has the 2nd and 3rd line done to earn such a substantial time differential over the 4th line? What are Dubinsky and Callahan doing to earn the ice time they're getting? I've got no problem icing Rupp, Christensen, Newbury with the way the 2nd and 3rd lines are playing.

Thirdly, Tortorella, how do you separate Gaborik / Richards the first two periods? It's the only line that is working for a team that can't score. What's the reason for this?

End of story, the Rangers play a pitiful game, where they struggle to get 18 shots (a disturbing trend for this team) where Gaborik is the only effective forward. Tortorella doesn't know what to do, shakes up the lines as his solution, and fails to implement any effective strategy. Team will go no where with him behind the bench.

Torts' coaching had echoes of Keenan tonight. Gave up on everyone way too early.

I'll say it again:

I wonder when people are going to start getting on Cally's *** like they got on Drury's.

Wasn't he brought here for offense?

Last couple of years this looks more like a Renney team.

I love Tortsie, but he's starting to piss me off.

For a few games, he did leave the lines together. Still thought, even though they were all flat tonight, they should of stayed.

Oh, yeah... **** our power play.

Coach isn't getting fired. Lack of depth on D is the problem.
