His style has been pissing some of us off for years, I wasn't the biggest Renney fan but the Rangers lacked multiple lines that could score under him so they played tight defense and tried to win games 1-0 or 2-1.

Torts thinks we are the Oiler's of the mid 80's and can score 4-6 goals a night. The lack of positioning, the fact this team misses the net constantly, the turnovers, bad offensive zone penalties, and the POWERPLAY, it is amazing he still has a job.

Sums it all up. Voted for Lundqvist for performing like himself, Gaborik for at least showing up and Biron, because at least he didn't make a fool out of himself like the rest of the bunch. Khabibulin didn't even get 1st star of the game for shutting us out, because we were really that pathetic. We're still like Renney's old team, our offense and PP is still brutal, only our defense is even worse. And that is with more talent than Renney ever had to work with.

Some good so far this season (aside from Hank obviously) is that Girardi has shown that he doesn't need Staal to play well. Last year he looked lost whenever Marc was absent. He's performed very well so far.

One of the worst games I have ever seen this team play.

No flow. No speed. No offense. No effort.

Ridiculous, against a team that has had back-to-back 1st overall picks. They played a solid game tonight, but ANY team could have played a solid game against this team. It was, simply, all-around, not an NHL effort. Don't know what the hell Tortorella was thinking, benching Anisimov in favor of Kris Newbury? Simply unbelievable. I understand sending a message, but:

1. The game was still relatively within grasp
2. Anisimov, for his ineffectiveness to start the season, is a VASTLY superior hockey player to Kris Newbury, and also to Ruslan Fedotenko, for that matter. He's been awful to start the season

Good: Henrik Lundqvist, Marian Gaborik, Brandon Prust. Erixon was solid, IMO.
Bad: Brad Richards, Steve Eminger, Artem Anisimov, Brian Boyle, Ruslan Fedotenko, Derek Stepan, Erik Christensen, Mike Rupp
Redden: Michael Del Zotto, Brendan Bell, Brandon Dubinsky, Ryan Callahan, Kris Newbury

Who is going to start the "Fire Torts" thread? I'd be an advocate at this juncture.

It'll all change when Staal, and even Sauer, comes back. We have our #1 defenseman out. Makes a huge difference. We all see that. We can't stop they opposition and go. Staal and Sauer is obviously missed. Give credit where credit's due to McDonagh and Girardi for stepping up, but the depth is our loophole.

To build on my previous post, this is the worst I've seen Callahan play since I started watching this team. What is up with him - is it the weight of being the captain? He's not the same wrecking ball that he usually is. He seems slow, indecisive, and just ineffective.

That whole line has been awful.

What a great power play we have now that Richards is here.

Staal and Sauer coming back will do nothing to improve our scoring. It will help our defensive woes, definitely, but the line up isn't adequate. It will NOT change the fact that our team consists solely of grinders, with an inability to score or generate chances. Nothing, not even effort, can make up for a lack of talent (which is what this team has right now). TOO MUCH grinding.

We need players who can dangle, see the ice differently, create the play, skate through the neutral zone, etc, etc, etc.

If Wolski is benched over our grinders, I'm going to lose it. We need players who have actual skill in the line up. I'm SICK of Tortorella's choices as head coach.

Chimp, I completely agree and made a post a few above that shares your sentiments. Without Torts we don't get Richards, but I still don't think Torts will take us to the next level. He hasn't fixed the PP, he can't get this team to play disciplined hockey, do they even work on hitting the net, and just the overall decision making by himself/the players on the ice is baffling at times.

I had enough of Torts last season, he got us Richards so I was willing to give him a chance, but besides Hank standing on his head this team has been nothing short of a joke to start the season.

Does anyone else just think that Henrik had to go to the bathroom? I mean, when you got to go, you got to go.

I really hope it's just jet lag from the long road schedule. So far the Rangers "C" is coming off as cursed.

Tortorella is a ****ing joke. Refuses to answer questions when he benches half the team and breaks up the only line that was creating chances. Take some responsibility you ****ing clown.
