No stupidity got us Gomez. It was the off season. No one was desperate - except maybe Sather.

We surely the buyers right now, yes we can worry about this.

I'd be pumped if the Habs acquired Turris...young, right handed centerman with high upside.
Things haven'tn worked out in Phoenix but there's no question Turris has high impact talent. He'd definitely fill an organizational need IMO

Phoenix has:
Keith Yandle
Adrian Aucoin
Rostislav Klesla
Derek Morris
Michal Rozsival (IR)
Oliver Ekman-Larsson
David Schlemko
Chris Summers*
Kurt Sauer (IR)
If there's a trade (which I'm not really convinced there is) I think it'd be for a D. Perhaps Rozsival is coming back soon.

Other than the Josh Gorges and Max-Pac for River trade, which trade did we win the last few years?

Gomez was aquired in June... Not a desperation trade, not even close. A dumb trade, yes, but not a desperation trade.

I personally would add Kostitsyn to the list.
I'd also be upset if we are giving up on Emelin, Diaz or Weber to get an older, slower, more experienced dman that will be a step sideways this year and a big step backwards in the future.
It will probably just be a very small move though

Kristo maybe, Eller even less likely, but we wouldn't trade our 1st, Price, Subban, Pacioretty, or Beaulieu that's for damn sure.

We need a 4th liner ! A real one or two. Someone who can kill penalties and take good face offs.
ANSWER: Boyd Gordon.

My best would be one any combination of low picks and/or scrubs for one of Biznasty/Gordon/Pyatt. Actually I'll go with Pyatt on this one.

None that I can recall. The only time we made a legit selling move was the only time we won a trade.

Anyone simply consider that Spacek is nearing a return (that's why Palushaj got sent down), so Weber would go back to playing on the fourth line?

Man, that would be so depressing if Martin is given another Pyatt.

That's because of injuries.
When healthy we would have Moen and White on our 4th line which has a bit of energy!
I just don't see a 4th liner as the solution. When you watch the habs getting their ass kicked are you thinking "yeah a 4th line center would really help this team win"

Only thing is though, why would Phoenix trade him? They aren't exactly stacked at C and he plays 1st PK and 15+min for them.

Weber has been playing 20-22 minutes a game, making him the #3 D-man on this team right now. And he's been good in that role, putting him back on the 4th line would show exactly how dumb this coaching staff actually is.
He's been far more stable then Emelin or Diaz, despite their sex-appeal on this forum.

It's funny that people would prefer Tippett when his commitment to defence is even worse than Martin's. I can't comment on his line combos, but he isn't all that lively either.
