Neither Wolski or MZA have really had a shot this year.
Wolski put in a ton of effort in the offseason, and hasn't played very much at all this year.
I mean you can't really judge his preseason performance because Gaborik has been crap in preseason, and now hes playing like a man possessed.
Fact is Wolski and MZA, are along the with Anisimov the only other skilled players on our team aside from Gabby and Richards.

Tortorella needs to give them more than 10 minutes of ice time.
Zuccarello produced roughly .5 PPG as a rookie last yr...he can clearly put up points. However he can't playing with Christensen and Rupp.

Lines should look like this:

Wolski-Richards-Gaborik
Dubinsky-Anisimov-MZA
Fedotenko-Stepan-Callahan
Prust-Boyle-Rupp

All three lines can potentially score, and our skilled players are in a position to succeed. All of our lines now have "jam" except our first line which really doesn't need it.
As much as I dislike putting Cally on the third line, giving Stepan a guy like that to play with is a good idea. Feds is a good complement to that line, alternatively i'd put Boyle on the LW on that line and run a 4th of Feds-Rupp-Prust. MZA has the defensively skills of Dubi and Arty, who can also score.

All lines have the ability to score, drive the net, and make skillful plays. Of course then people would go right back to calling Cally a third line scrub with stone hands.

I wouldnt take him seriously. At least 5 NHL teams wanted to sign Zooks last season and reportedly several pro European teams have already contacted Zooks agent in hopes he might go back overseas.
Quote:
Several clubs have of course contacted Zuccarello agent Erik Ryman. Modo is one of the clubs.

- Yes, they have been. But there are many people who called and checked the situation. He is an interesting player for the whole of Europe if he ends up in that position. But there is nothing that we are discussing right now, says Ryman.

We talked a little about a possible trade as well. Of course it is not impossible that Zuccarello remaining in the NHL if another club is interested. Once he left the Modo to North America as interest was really big.

Yeah. Lucky bounce. He even states it himself here

He gets that star for the gwg, not for his overall performance. He was okay, but both Hagelin and Mitchell stood out more on that line.

Zooks often says stuff like that. He is a humble kid who will often accept blame but deflect praise.

Here was his full quote.
Quote:
“I just tried to get it on net and it was a lucky bounce. I’ve done it before,” said a smiling Zuccarello, who admitted that he saw Taylor was a bit far out from the crease and could be vulnerable to a bank shot.

Here is what his coach had to say about him.

Quote:
“It was awesome,” said Whale head coach Ken Gernander. “He’s [Zuccarello] been a big time player for us in just the short two games he’s been with us, but he’s pretty good at generating offense for us.”

Might be lucky that it goes in, but that is exactly what he is trying to do, he has done it before and hopefully will keep on trying it.

But why didnt he play tonight, did he get him self injured on that hit from Muir? he was very slow to get up, but kept playing until he scored. didnt play another shift after the goal tho.....

Cally would get plenty of time on the PK and PP as well. I'd like those lines.

There was a player that scored several goals like that after being parked in his "office". He wore #99. You may have heard of him.

The headline is really premature though.. more for "shock value" than accuracy. What Zuke says is that he is not thinking about other leagues and whatnot, but that his full focus is on fighting his way back onto the Rangers roster.

The Rangers are going to have to break up the Pack line in order to be able to use Zuccarello properly, especially if they have Stepan mostly with Richards and Gaborik.

They will never demote the captain down a line.

Abit of topic but

4520$ is the current value of a signed Zuccarello rangers jersey.

Mats shiped a signed NYR jersey to his former team in Norway for an auction to help the team avoid bankruptcy. The jersey was sold for 25000NKR or 4520 USD

Well, you know if he keeps guessing long enough he'll eventually get one right.

Yup, it was a late hit, and also looked to be against the head (that might be because Zuke is lower than average though, not because Mair intentionally aimed for it).

Mair recieved a 4 game suspension as i understood it.

Minor concussion on Zuke, but he expects to be back in training today (wedensday).

A lot of concussed playerse have "expected" to be back soon..... I fear that Zuccarello will be on the sideline for quite a while after that hit. It did not look good!

I hope Im wrong. But according to norwegian newspapers, he still has headaches, and this was yesterday. I cannot see him beeing in training already today.... Concussions has to be taken seriously, and its better to wait a week or two than coming back too soon and make the injury worse.

Btw, 4 games suspension is a shame. Should have been at least 10.

If that was in the NHL Shanny would have easily laid out a 10 game suspension since there was two huge wrongs with the hit.

Mats Zuccarello practiced with the Whale today, very good sign. Glad his concussion is not going to ruin his season.
