I do agree though. I also have many pet peeves, some of which y'all might share. The "SHOOT!" during the power play irks me to the point of tears.

Yep. I have a lot of hockey related pet peeves; but even more so I have a lot of pet peeves regarding words (spelling, grammar, and phrases). I think I just THINK about words a lot. Like "why am I saying this phrase?", "what is its origin?", "what am I really saying?". I understand most people don't think about such things; but if they did, it would probably raise a red flag in their head when they said "could care less", "intensive purposes", and "should of".

I just have to much other **** to do then care about it . Like right now instead of the origins of words, I have to right a scientific paper in regards to an adeno-associated virus vector in relation to Parkison's disease. (aka science compared to grammar)

I have that "does it really affect me in any kind of way" type of attitude, which some people hate but....thats how it is.

Understandable. Believe it or not, I'm that way with a lot of things at well. Anything at work or politics, just falls into a "whatever, if it doesn't directly affect me, oh well. I'm fine in my bubble." category.

The sad thing is we do sometimes. 2 years ago during our Cup run, we, of course, used it as a mock chant against Montreal. The next series some moron in my section tried to start an Ole chant. Needless to say I let him have it, and he sat down, completely confused as to why nobody wanted to do the Ole chant with him.

The original poster had a good point- that the organ is PLAYING THE TUNE for you! It's pretty hard to NOT sing along properly, but our fans have the willpower (and perhaps the complete lack of musical talent?) to do it wrong. It annoys me as a fan and as a musician.

Also, I'm pretty sure the "Ole!" chant is actually "Allez!"- French for "Go!", but I could be wrong.

Having been to other games where people can't get the intonation or the pace right, thereby ruining the whole chant, I have to say, OP, I fully back your rant.

I wish the dancing guy would disappear. My seats are near him and the past 5 seasons have been getting annoyed by his lame act. Last game flyers fans near him were booing

I just can't take it anymore. After attending the game last night, I just snapped haha. YOU ARE ALL DOING THE "LET'S GO FLYERS" CHANT WRONG! I don't know how it is possible because the organ PLAYS the tune for everyone, yet people are incapable of replicating it.

In the proper chant the 1st, 2nd, and 4th notes are the same. So if "1" were one particular note, "2" were a different (lower) note. It would be Let's(1) - Go(1) - Fly(2) - ers(1).

What everyone actually DOES is the 1st and 3rd notes being the same, and the 2nd and 4th notes being the same. Let's(1) - Go(2) - Fly(1) - ers(2).

Please see the YT vids for reference. The first is the wrong one, and the second is correct.

Tell your friends! How many of you knew this? How many of you were wrong?

Remember the year the Philly cop got killed right before the playoffs? At the funeral the cop's son (or some other relative) did the chant completely wrong. It was like the "Here we go, Flyers; here we go!" I mean I understand the cop was a Flyers fan and all, but I still think the relative jinxed us by doing that.

Like many others I fully support this thread. Somewhere, over the years, the correct version of the chant was lost. I remember a conversation on 610 several years ago about this very issue, so it's not a new problem.

As bad as that is... it is much, much better than the times it is chanted in the 'here we go' Ranger mode... much, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better. ((sigh))

I believe that it would be a very good idea for the Flyers to play that YouTube tutorial that was posted here a few posts prior.
