I think its time to split up Gomez-Gionta. Both are way too one dimensional and lack creativity in the offensive zone. I hope Eller is with Gio tonight, I'd like to see how they work together.

Palushaj should be playing a top 3 line or else he is useless. How does it make sense to play him on the 4th line? He is an offensive minded player..what in the world is he going to do with Darche and Engqvist?

That 4th line has no identity or strength whatsoever. They might get a lucky with a goal at some point but I barely ever notice them when they get a shift. As for Enqgivst he is giving Maxwell a run for his money as one of the least impressive prospects we have seen recently with the Habs. I see nothing from him.

i'm still very curious to see a Kost-Eller-Maxpac line... but with the way the Moen-Eller-Kost line played tonight, better to keep them intact.

Cammy- Pleks- Gionta
Moen- Eller- Kost
MaxPac- DD - Cole
Darche- Enqvist- Palushaj

Gorges- Subban
Emelin- Weber
Gill- Diaz
Spacek

Anyone else think with a healthy lineup this team would be so solid?

I believe the problem is our defense and their inability to disposses the opposition of the biscuit and move it up to our forwards in stride. Its really too bad that Marky isnt there cuz it would make the entire team better with his puck control and breakout pass. Campoli is also a very capable d-man. I'd also like to see any line combinations kept together for more than 1 period. Let them play for 5-6 games and get used to each other.

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Cole
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta
Moen-Eller-Kostitsyn
Darche-Nokelainen-White

Markov-Gorges
Gill-Subban
Spacek-Campoli

Desharnais has to be there, and to me having Spacek and Campoli over Emelin and Diaz is a step backwords imo.

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Cole
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta
DD-Eller-Kostitsyn
Moen-Nokelainen-White

Not perfect, but much better imo.

What they need now is a bit of line consistency that hasn't been there all year.

Perfect examples of yoyos are AK and Cole.

How can Cole get comfortable when he has different linemates every games, or practically every period?

AK's doing ok considering his role and linemates this year.

Game 1 - starts on the first line with Plek, causes an icing, gets called on a phantom penalty and then sits for most of the third
Game 2 - 3rd line, multiple linemates, hardly plays
Games 3-5 - DD and MaxPac - great chemistry
Game 6 - line doesn't produce in their first 2 or 3 shifts and the line shuffling begins. Has the least amount of ice time of any non injured player. Mostly plays with DD and Darche.
Game 7 - Eller and Moen and they produce

Although he's tied for the team lead in points, Darche gets the PP time while AK watches. In the closing minutes with the Habs trailing, Darche, DD and even Gorges line up as forwards while AK watches. Same could be said for Cole, who has not produced so far however.

Darche on the PP is ridiculous. Put Cole there, he has the big body, but he actually possesses the hands to cash in!

If Nokia can come in and take hold of that 4th line center spot, I think we are mostly good to go with everyone healthy up front:

TOP 9 (some combination of):
Cammy-Pleks-Cole
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta
DD-Eller-Kostitsyn

4TH LINE
Moen-Nokia-Darche/White/Blunden

I'm pretty sure it's suppose to help Eller to rack some points and confidence that Martin put him with Travis ''Goal scoring'' Moen.

Seriously, it's a one hell of a two-way line, I don't know what's Florida first line and if they put all their good offensives players on the same line, but if it's the case they will have a hard time against Eller line.

RDS says these were the practice lines:

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Gionta
Pacioretty-Desharnais-Cole
Moen-Eller-Kostitsyn
Darche-Nokelainen-Blunden

I hope RDS is right, because it would mean keeping the same lines in back to back games for once. Plus, I don't know why JM would split up Moen-Eller-Kostitsyn after last game...

Here's what JM will do for the next game, imo.

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Gionta
Darche - Desharnais - Cole
Moen - Eller - Kostitsyn
Blunden- Nokelainen -Weber

Gorges - Subban
Gill - Diaz
Spacek - Emelin

I'm curious to see how he does at forward actually. I know I'm going to be riding solo on this one but I actually like this. Beats having him sit in the stands anyway.

I don't like Weber as a forward because he's actually been our best D. But to play Emelin on LW would be a typical JM bonehead move. Call up a Bulldog - Trotter's got 7 points in 5 games! Oh wait, never mind him. Maybe Dumont or Avstin?

well one part of me hopes that it is just because we are short a forward at practice and that we call an actual forward up from the Dogs...

and the other part of me is kinda intrigued by a 4th line of Emelin-Nokelainen-Blunden

WOW Jack has reach a new low...EMELIN AT FORWARD!

From HIO:

The Canadiens practice at 11:30.

There may be an update on Max Pacioretty, who’s not on the ice.

Lines: Kostitsyn-Eller-Darche, Plekanec-Gionta-Moen, DD-Cammalleri-Cole and, wait for it, Nokelainen-Blunden-EMELIN!

What’s WTF in Russian?

No changes in D pairings.

Please Fire This Guy!
