Looks like Butler is having some bad luck to start the season. May be good for Filatov on the call up and Zibanejad to get some more PP.
[MOD] Day to day, tweaked groin. Wont play tonight. [/MOD]

Doubt we call up Filatov right now since we sent him down to work on his game.

We had two forwards in the press box last game healthy, so there's no need to call Filatov or anyone up. Things aren't going well for Butler.

If he was called up - is he subject to being claimed by other teams on waivers?

Update:
via Ian Mendes
Quote:
Bobby Butler's groin injury is a little more serious than the club first thought. He may go on IR.
& for anyone who cares, looks like Sergei Gonchar will be day to day. I'm glad it isn't too serious (I would never wish an injury on any of our current players.)
Quote:
Sergei Gonchar has a bruised ankle and is being officially listed day-to-day. Doubtful to play tomorrow vs PHI.
oh & Andy wont be starting in net tomorrow.

MacLean said that Craig Anderson's "personal situation" - which caused him to miss skate today - was a factor in starting Auld tomorrow.

^^^ Good to know all that!!!
I wonder if these "personal" issues are why Anderson hasn't been quite 100%.

I'd guess it's had an impact. If I recall correctly, Redden's decline coincided with his mother's death and Phillips started playing poorly last season when his father became quite ill. Hopefully Andy's personal issues work themselves out for the best.

Unfortunately, people often forget hockey players are people too and refuse to accept it as an excuse for a downgrade in play.
People shat all over Phillips last year but if they had an inkling of what he was going through...

Oh its completely true. Any stress is gonna effect how you perform.
I hope all gets better with him though.

Other than Filatov being one of our better offensive forwards and probably better than a few of the players we have on our roster.

I'm sure it's been mentioned but I missed something along the way. What was up with Philips last year?
