That's my guess. Either that or a major injury/illness in the organization.

Sarge, I'm with you. My immediate thought was a serious health issue.

Because Providence doesn't play until Friday, and he might as well practrice with the big boys. He was sent down Sunday to give him a chance to play, not as a permanent reassignment.

Are people in agreement that this is probably bad news? Even if we traded for Crosby or something massive like that, they wouldn't cancel practice (unless we traded our whole team for him).

Have a ceremony right before the game. Let Savvy have one last crack at them.

I don't know what to think, when was the last time they took this approach with a press conference and cancelling practice?

teams dont cancel practice when they make a trade. they dont cancel practice when an injured player announced his retirement. i read that the presser will be a conference call. if it were savard retiring, it would be an in person presser.

this sounds like somebody has cancer or the like. they tell the team personel and then cancel practice to give them time away from the media til the team can make the announcement.

this just sounds like a non-normal issue.

Of course they would have to beat the habs 9-1 in honor of Savard.

A major illness within the organization is my concern as well. I don't feel good about this. Relatively speaking, I really don't care what it is as long as it isn't that.

My mind's got me thinking that something was announced to the team that made practicing or doing anything sports related unrealistic. I just hope everyone's healthy.

Unfortunately I think you are likely correct that it isn't a trade or a retirement and it is something outside of the day to day.

I really hope everyone is ok.

Major illnesses? Trades? Major injuries?

Why don't we wait until we hear what's going on before we drive ourselves mad with worry

I don't know about the rest of y'all, but my life is complicated and hectic enough as it is to add in crazy speculation about the bruins

Why tease this now? Especially if it's just a phone call that doesn't require people to be at a single location. It doesn't make sense. The rumor mill is going to be running rampant for 24 hours.

I would think the media will find out something by the morning, if not tonight.

I would think at this point McQuaid would have undergone scans of the neck and up from his recent injuries that would have revealed something, if there was indeed something to reveal, but you never know.

I think Chia is a member and got bored and wanted to read how bad B's fans blow this out of proportion.

Agreed. I just posted a name and had to edit my post because it doesn't seem right to just throw things up in the air.

Mehhh, I'm sure you're right. If it was something serious, this would be a full blown announcement with Neely and the likes.
