Walker and Shelley honestly weren't bad tonight. Not that they should see that much increased ice time but they certainly made some things happen tonight.

Jagr said the team was told Pronger would be alright!

Shelley was good, but it was also his first game and he's probably aware his job is on the line. I'm not sure we see it continue.

Dare I say Shelley even had a couple of good looking shifts? I thought he should have drawn an interference penalty in the 2nd with some hard skating, but unfortunately it is very tough for him to get a call.

Well hearing that JVR and Shelly have joined Jagr at his 11Oclock workout, hopefully it does them some good.

I missed a large chunk of the 1st period, but from what I saw...Shelley looked pretty damn good. Walker wasn't bad either. Wonder if he can keep it up. With willing and able 4th liners on the team/in the system, each guy should be playing their shifts hard and smart.

I just feel really bad for Couts being stuck with playing along side Shelley.

Shelley sucks. He's slow and can't get to the play. He wasn't as brutal as usual, but let's be real, he should not be playing. The 4th line was good because Couturier played great and Talbot played well too.

FACEOFFS: Giroux was +5 on draws, rest of team was -15. Read lost 8 of 9.

Please keep these depressing stats out of the GDTs in the future, thanks.

Timonen had 2 assists tonight. Does that help?

So shelley gets back in, takes a dumb penalty other teams scores. But at least he deters the other team from doing anything..... oh, except for the totally reckless sticks all night. If anything rinaldo would be more of a deterrent, they don't have to fight shelley. But if rinaldo thought a leaf went to far he'd have kessel eating out of a tube for a while.

You have to go back and watch the play... that was a horrible call.. It even looked like Luke Schenn's stick that hit the monster. Shelley did nothing wrong on that play

You are 100% correct. The play happened right in front of me and I had no idea what the hell they even called him for. It was obvious it was a Laffs stick that hit him, Shelley got a rep call there. The officiating was pretty bad tonight.

After watching the post game hi-lites and Jagr(meister)'s two goals and subsequent salutes I suddenly got the feeling of him being like an old WWF Wrassler -- Sgt. Slaughter? -- where a one time villain becomes today's hometown hero... Somebody once said that there is never so sweet friend as one that was a onetime enemy.

I remember me yelling down on the Spectrum and CoreStates/FirstUnion/Wachovia ice as whistles echoed... "Hit him dammit" as Bundy was trying wih all his might to control him -- and God Bless Chris, he did a real good job a it... all things considered -- Now I see him saluting and smiling and hugging my Flyers and i is as if I never hated him a second... I want him to succeed and re-sign for another season or so and retire a Flyer.

Funny also how I have forgotten Talbot shushing us after he suckered CarBom into a fight and rallied his Pens as they came from way back and kicked our ***** from the First Round... Five years or so here, and I'm kinda happy he's here.

A couple Bad Guys seeing the light and becoming Good Guys... Like Sgt. Slaughter going to battle against the Iron Sheik.

WTF is THAT about??? Ravens/Jags and Cards/Rangers over Flyers hockey?? I would've made enough noise until they put it on. That's a disgrace.

What? C&P 'The Worlds Greatest Sports Bar'... in the shadow of the WFC was not watching the Flyers on any of their many large screen TVs?... And had on Balt at Jax? Philly is lovin' the Fly-Guys and most don't care about what the Cards are doing or a 'nothing' NFL game... C&P should be ashamed of themselves.

I think it's shocking how much better that 4th line is with Couturier instead of Betts. He actually makes Shelley look like he played hockey a couple times as a youngster.
