The Lundqvist: Biron was showing why he's an excellent backup, what a great game by him. He made some huge kick saves.
The Good: We scored 2 goals on the PP. Don't ask how.
The Bad: We still suck. Very, very much, in pretty much all aspects of the game. We didn't deserve that win - again - with a brutally awful performance - again.
The Redden: It feels we won this game despite of Torts, certainly not because of. That can't continue. His in game decision making is making me cringe, he makes the weirdest benchings, juggles the lines in combinations like he's drunk and... wait, is he drunk?
Overall I cant complain when after our start to the season, then looking at this Canadian road trip we are now 3-2-2. We have been on the road for over a month now, its time to come home. MSG here we come...
Don't be too optimistic about it. They've been so lucky, it's not even funny. And please don't expect a huge change on Thursday home opener. We will see the same crap we saw on the road. Mark my words.
ThisYearsModel - when I pointed out the fact the Rangers were often a step behind, and asked why they could not instead be a step ahead, you recited their overseas itinerary.
Sorry, that's not a reason. They had the same hesitancy and lack of intensity early in the Euro adventure. If they were tired that early in, it would be pretty bad.
No, there is some other problem. They had their legs tonight, they were not worn out.
The fact that we went 3-1 on this road trip is nothing short of miraculous.
It's becoming more and more apparent that we can only survive so long without Staal (as well as Sauer, but I'm hoping he'll be back next game). Eminger and Woywitka are becoming more exposed as each game goes on... they were on the ice for the Jets' neverending shift that felt like they had a PK.
Bright spots, PP finally starting to look good. Dubi and Cally are playing better. Feds and Biron were monsters.
went with Biron, Dubi, and Boyle...I thought Dubi was our best player tonight hands down.
Rangers actually weren't as bad as the stats indicate tonight. there were 2 extreme pressure situations that probably made it seem a whole lot uglier than it really was. I wonder how many attempted shots on goal they had VS the Jets...it seemed like everything they put towards the net was on goal, and we missed a whole hell of a lot.
The Good: 2 Power play goals, Biron's play, and the fact that they blocked a lot of shots in this game. I know they were out played, but in trying to find a silver lining, I feel it's a good sign that maybe they're finding their game.
The Bad: Were GROSSLY outplayed.
The Redden: That 2 minutes when they were pinned in our own freaking zone, and the team looked like it was about collapse on the ice and die!!
Bright side: 3-2-2 record after a brutal first month on the road, cannot WAIT for the freaking home opener!
