It's becoming more and more apparent that we can only survive so long without Staal (as well as Sauer, but I'm hoping he'll be back next game). Eminger and Woywitka are becoming more exposed as each game goes on... they were on the ice for the Jets' neverending shift that felt like they had a PK.

Bright spots, PP finally starting to look good. Dubi and Cally are playing better. Feds and Biron were monsters.
It's possible one of Staal or Sauer can be back by the opener, right? I haven't heard any reliable updates on either but I remember NHL Home Ice saying that Thursday was a possibility.

man that was awful. that sequence where the jets kept it in our zone for 2 minutes straight like they had a 5 on 3 was absolutely horrible.

POTG: biron, feds wasn't bad. gaborik when he was actually playing.
the good: we're going back to NY finally.
the bad: pretty much the whole game. torts benching gaborik in the third

Not Staal, possibly Sauer I think.

Definitely not Staal, Rangers won't even release any information about how he's doing, but I think there's a possibility we may see Sauer on Thursday night.

Sorry, that's not a reason. They had the same hesitancy and lack of intensity early in the Euro adventure. If they were tired that early in, it would be pretty bad.
No, there is some other problem. They had their legs tonight, they were not worn out.
They have not had a normal lifestyle, they had not had a chance to in a MONTH. Even in the beginning it is hard to go all the way to Europe and then play on different Ice Surfaces, and completely different time zones.

Boyle was good again tonight. Screening on Fedo's goal. Hustling in the corner. Guy works his ass off.

I'm very curious to see Thursday's display, even more curious than I was for tonight.

If they get Sauer back and sign Stralman it should help getting new bodies in. Staal will be a while.

McDonaugh, Girardi
Del Zotto, Sauer
Erixon, Stralman
Eminger

waive Bell and Woywitka down

When Staal is back send Erixon down for top minutes

I wish the Rangers would just release how he is doing and what the exact issue is so we can have some kind of timetable.

by the way - obviously hank is a much better goalie, but Marty is so much better with the stick handling behind the net. i wish he'd teach Hank

I am not disputing that he was good, but he wasn't making saves like Hank was in Vancouver

Well come on, Hank was insane in Vancouver. Just because he wasn't out of this world doesn't mean he can't be our number one star.

Nice to see the Feds had a good game. He was dreadful last outing. I love the guy, so I hope he continues to be solid.

Very few goalies make the saves Hank did in Vancouver

Biron was excellent and did he job of backup perfectly. He is one of the ideal #2 goalies IMHO

Not trying to be negative, but I am more than a little scared that the luck is gonna turn here. Usually when they win games like they have won, it catches up. We might be OK with the the Garden rocking Thursday night, but look out for that second home game against Ottawa.

For sure, it's been frustrating. Concussions are unpredictable, so they may not even know themselves when he's going to return. But I did find it peculiar that the Rangers said they had an announcement about Staal last week, and then an announcement was never made.

Still in shock that we won this game. That 3rd period was beyond awful.

2 points is 2 points though. Hopefully coming back home will get them going.
