He was a point per game player before joining our team.

We just need to play a style that's more adapted to players like him.

To be honest, he is playing like someone who wants the coach's head, I dont know if he is the one who talks to Laraque knowing pretty well Laraque would make it public on the late show but this guy has an history of being a little rat in a locker room, just ask the Kings guys he played with.. If Cammy is indeed the one who go out to puke about what is supposed to be kept in the locker room, then I lose any respect for him.. His body language says alot too, the guy seems to be always bored, complaining about everything.. for example last year he is the one that said our boards were too rigid on a casual tone..

If the team keeps playing this way, I could see very well Cammy being traded at the deadline..
I'm not sure it's the good time to judge a single player's performance, newhabsArea.
Your "analysis" is : He only has flaws.

By the way, no one should bring Laraque's name in any situation.

My take on Cammalleri is that he's been a disappointment since joining our team.

I'm not the biggest Cammalleri fan, but he's shown me enough in the last 2 playoffs that i wouldn't move him anytime soon.

I would deal with the Gomez situation way before even considering anything with Cammalleri.

Regular season I would agree, he has been our best forward in the playoffs in both years and no one has come even close.

I want to see what he can do in a more offensive system

I mean, he scored 13 goals during the 2010 playoffs under Martin

That's a heck of an achievement IMO

Okay so an NHL player who is one of the most clutch playoff performers of our time is cocky? In a city that worships anyone who can score a goal? You don't say

If he is indeed a monster, he is the monster we all created

1-5-2 start, eh? It shows Look at all the drama queens attacking players personally.

Trading Cammy would be a huge setback, he's the only player on this team who could possibly score 30+ goals and he hit 80 points twice in his career. Obviously he doesn't thrive as much in the system and would be more effective in run and gun type of play. Truth is, even if you guys want to tank desperately, we're not tanking for years. We might finish at the bottom of the league this year but the Habs will always try to remain competitive and next year, they'll be back to fighting for a playoff spot. Our team already struggles offensively, how does it make sens to trade Cammalleri?

He's never really been a defensive player and he's currently playing with a deep cut on his leg. Not really sure why we're using him on the PK 3min/game, even more than Moen for example. Then again we have Plekanec on the point so this can't really be any surprise.

He must have really disappointed you with his 29 points in 26 playoff games for the habs...

I'd get rid of Gionta before him personally, but that's just me.

I'd keep Cammalleri. I, too, am annoyed by him currently, but I really think we're not putting him in a good environment. He should be playing with bigger players, and he should be playing on an offensive minded system.

I think JM is REALLY not suited for him. (and for other players, such as Plekanec, who gets so overused on the PK he has no juice left 5 on 5. And don't get me started on playing him on the point...)

In my mind, Gomez needs to go, anywhere, anyhow. I'd also trade Gionta before Cammalleri, but I do not think Gionta is a problem in himself, he's just "too important" for what he can give us.

I'd like to see something like this:
Malone - Plekanec - Cammalleri
Pacioretti-Neil-Cole
Moen-Eller-Kostytsin
Darche-Nokelainen/whoever-White

Of course Malone and Neil are just names thrown out there as offensively capable big guys, not counting salary and means of acquisition.

Throw an offensive minded coach at them and see what happens.

I disagree. Gionta is and has been better than Cammy since they both arrived here.

get rid of him.

soft, weak, poor effort, no battle, absolutely useless unless he's completely alone for a shot on net.

i'd trade him in a second for a decent 2nd line player with size.

If you can handle he's going to be injured lots and will max out at around 25 goals, he's likeable, although overpaid.

Cammalleri I would keep. I personally am not a big fan of his lack of physical game (he gets like 15 hits a year). But I love his goal scoring drive.

Cammalleri has definately earned his spot here though... He's an incredible hockey player, and probably has one of the most incredible one timers I have personally ever seen... That's a lot of NHL'ers... I dont recall a player who got so much on it when he gets a good one off.

Cammalleri is a very good LW'er. IMO when Martins is out, I think if we get an offensive coach, we may see a more explosive Cammalleri

Moving Cammalleri is the last thing this team needs. On top of being one of the rare performers who not only isn't phased by the pressure of playing in Montreal, he actually thrives in it and becomes better as the games get more important, he's also one of the few players (and the only true sniper) on this team, when on his game, who can take charge and change a game. The only others who can do that are a healthy Markov and Price. No reason to do it, unless you're giving up, blowing it up and trading all the vets for a proper 3-5 year rebuild. We're not there yet, far from it.

i'm in favour of moving all the smurfs from the team, get us some players who are tough to play against and make some room on the ice for skill players. sick of these cocky smurfs who hide out when the going gets tough.

how will he help us this year since we WON'T MAKE THE PLAYOFFS?

do you watch games? the guy gives a pathetic performance every night, refusing to put in an effort to win a puck battle. watching him on the pk last night was embarassing...i've never seen a guy so careless in years of watching the habs.

I can't tell if this is just a grotesque exaggeration or if you've blocked out the Kovalev years.

There are a number of fair criticisms you can make of Cammalleri but to say he doesn't care is ridiculous IMO.
