Emelin as a forward ?

http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/328877.html

"Par ailleurs, Alexei Emelin, qui a été laissé de côté contre les Panthers, s’entraînait comme attaquant. Il évoluait à gauche de Petteri Nokelainen et Michael Blunden au sein du quatrième trio."

Jacques, Jacques, Jacques...

I'm not even surprised anymore. Martin has obviously lost his mind.

Wouldn't it be better to send one of our other FIVE "offensive" defensemans to play forward... How is sending up one of our only meat and potatoes stay at home defensive Ds gonna help with anything?

Jacques is just trying to get Emelin acclimated to the forward position so he can eventually ice a 4th line that consists completely of defencemen.

Weber is a RW. Emelin is a LW. Just need that elusive defenseman centre. Oh wait! Andrei Markov used to be a C.

Janne Niinimaa as a forward was my favorite.

It's like a disease within the organization.

Last ditch effort. Thankfully he will be gone soon.

Chill guys. They are missing a forward for the practice... they will need to call up someone before the end of the day. This is just temporary

I know everybody desperately wants to throw Jacques Martin under the bus...but this is getting a bit ridiculous.

Pacioretty gor hurt in last night's game and they have a practise this morning. It doesnt require a Ph.D to figure out that maybe, just maybe they want to know how long Pacioretty will be out before deciding on a callup...or they called up a player but he will only arrive later in the day or tomorrow...so you stick Emelin on the 4th line to do drills in practise.

Seriously what's the point of this.

I get that he wants to get him into the lineup but what is he going to do on the 4th line for 3 minutes a game.

I'm really starting to hate Martin. Every decision he makes aggravates me... I don't know if it's because I hate him and I just hate all his decisions because of it or if he's just actually that stupid.

The Habs finally convince Emelin after years of courting to come over and then they move him positions...

I never said a word about the other D's up to Forward since they were all drafted by the Habs...they can do what they want...but this makes no sense!

I can see this as a double edged sword. Emelin's trying to acclimate to the NA game, and is being used as a forward, when Weber, is more comfortably situaated to play there.

This also likely means Emelin's not in the game vs Philly.
Are they waiting for Markov to come back? I honestly dont know...

But considering the situation they are in, it MAY have been wise to have the doors locked today. Esp. knowing this information. Have a scheduled conversation.

I hope he calls up Pulashaj, and maybe play him on the third... But I doubt he has that much sense these days... I think it's unfortunate, but watching his body language in the game last night, it looked as though even he is aware that his goose is being cooked.

Dunno, seems like a good idea to me.

Hockey is a fairly simple sport. Emelin is a gritty player who has a decent vision and a decent wrist/slap shot. I'm sure he can make something happen. You know he'll be responsible defensively, so everything else is gravy.
