You're right. Markov wasn't thre for a good part of the last two seasons, and the team managed to make the playoffs and win a couple of rounds....

He should had been NOT re-signed.

Am i the onlyone who expected he back in december anyway? Maybe that's why I don't really care about all this media fiasco surrounding him.

Gauthier Expected Markov Back.......

Gauthier, according to the article, never expected Markov to miss the whole month of October. I've had this debate with others and I think I'm the only that thought Markov would be to start or at least shortly thereafter.

Why sign a player who was only going to start in December? I truly do not understand that thought process whether it's Markov or not.

Gauthier's moves or lack thereof indicate he thought Markov would be back. No Hamrlik. Sign Woywitka. Campoli's signing seemed really reactionary to me.

I don't know how credit these guys are but I've ever, ever have seen anything in print that says Markov would be back in December. Just a bunch of mumbo, jumbo comments that it can take up to a year to recover from ACL.

Markov himself said he'd 100 % ready. Why did he say that? In the article........

It's no surprise that Montreal is looking for help on defense given that Gauthier never expected Markov to miss the opening month of the season when he signed him this past summer.

I never saw those interviews so I never expected him back anyway at this time.

Based on the fact that he was skating in April, pretty safe to assume he would be ready for October, but he had the setback in August with the swelling and they probably wanted to make sure he was 100% before bringing him back so they took it slow.

I don't agree with that...I supported them re-signign him during the summer and even knowing what we know today, I still think it was the right move to make.

We can't afford to have Pacioretty miss significant time with the way our vets are playing, that being said I have a gut feeling that the Habs are going to surprise everyone tomorrow night and stomp Philly.

I feel like we'll beat Philly, but then get blown out by the Bruins on Thursday and then a win on Saturday.

Star990 says he has torn ligaments, no fracture in his wrist. Surgery unlikely, but prolonged absence.

yay

What's the prognosis for something like that? If my memory serves me correctly it's rougly 3-6 week range, correct?

I think it's something around that, I was thinking closer to 3~4 though.

#Habs Max Pacioretty has partially torn ligament in his wrist, I was told 90%. Surgery is UNLIKELY from what I've been told.
Just now.

EDIT: Saw this was already posted.

Sorry, but a #1 defenseman like Markov would make a HUGE difference. It would take the pressure off of Subban, as well as move everyone on the depth chart down a spot, giving us depth.
