They can't take on much salary though. Hartnell+Lilja/Nödl for Påhlsson+Martinek? I suck at trade proposals, but I think this would at least work with the cap for both teams.

If he comes to Sweden instead, he might return with an entire car company. SAAB hasn't made the playoffs in a while, so to speak. They'd probably fit under the cap as well...

No, no. Every time a GM sees another team play, it's because there's a multi-player blockbuster trade about to happen.

Doubtful, we don't have the cap space. I'm thinking Dae-Woo

That's interesting, although perhaps Harts see's that Edmonton has a bright future with the young crop of talent they have in place ? I see no upside for him even considering Columbus, unless the Philly media is really getting on his nerves and he just wants out of Dodge ? Personally i Hope Harts stays right here, he is starting to get his mo-jo going....

Something like Hartnell for Kindl might make sense.

Why would any rational person waive their NTC to go to Columbus?

I think it was simply that Edmonton is (relatively) close to his family... right? He grew up in Saskatchewan.

EDIT: By the way, I doubt we're shopping Hartnell, for a number of reasons. If you're looking for a non-auto explanation, then chew on Bobrovsky to Columbus; apparently, Mason has fallen very, very far there.

You guys need a reality check. With our 35+ contracts on the books no matter what and the likelihood of injury Holmgren couldnt even comfortably fit a Dae-Woo under the cap. Think India folks. Tata Nano, worlds cheapest vehicle at $2,200 brand new!! He will undoubtedly trade a 1st AND 2nd for this cap friendly vehicle.

I just spoke to Homer on the phone and he sent me this picture of his car that he drove to Detroit. Some fans out there really took a beating to his car because he was wearing an Angry Birds costume.

I sure hope you comedians do not quit your day jobs
On a lighter note Columbus has some young talent on defense and a few vets are not half bad either. But the they up against the cap. As far as Detroit goes Brendan Smith is their top prospect on defense and they could move one of their lower tier vets. With Chris being out for awhile at least it looks like they are looking into some options..

Does anyone know the restrictions on Hartnell's NTC?
