There's no chance we take on J-Bo's contract. 3 more years after this one? Sather can't be that much of a gambler. I don't think he's a huge gamble (again, I just blame Calgary for everything -- dude was fine in Florida and looked great), but Sather MUST be risk averse at this point in time. Especially with Redden on the books for a few years still.

What is the fascination with Bourque? Bouwmeester stinks. Both of them have term remaining on their contracts. Sather doesn't add term unless he is dumping the same term back in the deal. The cap is going down in the next CBA and people want to add $11M in cap hits.

No chance we take on that deal. We are going to give how much to a 2nd pair d-man? I agree with you. MAYBE he can turn into a irst pair guy, but at this point in his career 'potential isn't the same'

As or your 2nd point... what did Calgary do? I can't blame the team that gives him money and minutes - I blame the player. He has the talent to be THAT guy... he isn't. What did Calgary do to destroy his development? Should the entire team style try to contort to him?

Hockey - wise both players make the Rangers better. People dissing Jay Bo must be talking his fantasy value. He is an EXCELLENT, over paid player. But cap-wise I don't see it.

Jay Bo - Staal
Girardi - Mc D
Sauer - MDZ

Could be a dream corp of a blueline. Solid and able to attack the O zone.

J-Bo would cure a lot ofour problems, even if he never finds his offensive touch...of course, 3 years at $6.6MM is not going to work...Bourque would also help but you'd have to give up some assets for him and I don't see it...when I originally heard about a potential Dman trade out of Calgary, I thought maybe Cory Sarich to the Rangers...Torts/TB connection and could be a stop-gap of sorts.

Henke Surprise + the Jagr effect + no expectations = good times

After JBlow ****ed us in Florida when we had a playoff shot, I never want him on one of my teams.

Would love to have J-Bo, sadly don't see how he fits under the cap, and like some people have said, the price for Bourque is probably higher then any of us would want to pay.

J-Bo = insane contract. No.
Bourque - will cost too much in form of assets. Probably not what we need either, considering asking price
Sarich - typical Sather stop gap. A meh possibility. Hopefully not.
The Anton - I guess we could endure his NOBLE prescence - but his 2,5 M caphit will be hard for us to take on...
I think Calgary is not what we are looking for.

Cody Fransson from Toronto seems more likely imo

I saw that, but I think he was just joking...I think. I don't know. People like to post trade proposals on there also.

well if it is the trade, i am not a fan. Ani is seriously underrated. Even by our coach. Hell he was the best player on that line, and then he gets demoted to the 4th line. I don't get it.

J-Bo was very good in Florida. Logged more ice time on average than any other player in the NHL and had 3 consecutive seasons of 12 or more goals and 20+ assists. He has a bomb from the point and would be a great asset to the team if he were paid about $1.5M less per year.

He's been disappointing in Calgary, but there aren't many bright spots at all up there lately so it's hard to think he wouldn't rebound elsewhere.

Obvious interest in Bourque, but I imagine there would be a fair amount of competition for a 25+ goal scoring power-forward on a sweetheart deal.

Still think this cat is way overhyped.

A bomb from the point? Logged over 30 minutes a night? If he is an elite defenseman, his numbers certainly don't show it, nor do the teams that he has played on. Perennial loser everywhere he goes. I really fear him being successful in NY.

If a deal isn't lopsided then it's a no go in my book. Take Redden, first rounder in 2012 and maybe Zucc. But don't chase a deal for him.
