Dave Nonis

We all know Steve and dave have done great jobs, and I really do see them as future GMs at the end of this year or very soon... who else can replace them within Canucks organization?? or we going out to get someone to do the job?? They are the ones making Burke really looking really smart, not to take aaway the job Burke has done...

Burke doesn't need any help in looking smart. He's the boss and Tambellini and Nonis are merely the apprentices. They both should become GM's but they learned it all from Burke.

There have been perceived talk about a possible rift between Burke and McCaw the last few weeks. Hopefully this isn't true, but you know if Burke had a choice. he would work of an East Coast team to be close to his family and kids. If something like this happened (Burke leaving) Nonis would be more of an adequate replacement for Burke. Nonis is a local guy and is a "clone" of Burke with a softer edge.
But, hopefully Burke is here for a long long time.

That has been completely fabricated by the media and is completely un-substantiated.

Although I can imagine that an east coaster and Harvard alum with kids in Boston would feel pretty sassy as GM of the Bruins (his ability to sign core players to reasonable deals would appeal to Jeremy Jacobs), Burke's equally tied to Vancouver. He's spent nearly twenty years here off and on, and Jennifer Mathers has her CKNW gig.

If he were to leave, it would be cool to promote Nonis. I like Nonis, and he is a kid from Burnaby.
