it would be interesting to see in how many games Fasth got points vs how many games Thomas has had points.
ppl have soured on Thomas WAY too quickly.
Annoyingly so. ZOMG HE'S NOT READY? BUUUUUUST.
Thomas will be fine. I think he pressed too hard while he was playing in preseason, anyway. You could tell all he wanted to do was make the team. Hence why he was slumping when sent back. Kid was heartbroken.

Shows he wants it. If he has another big season in junior, he'll get a long look next season (assuming Wolski and Christensen are gone).

how the hell do you have almost 45,000 posts....and go to law school
I thought both looked decent in the game, actually I noticed Lindberg more. He did some nice steals in the midzone. Fasth had atleast one good chance to score.

I like the scoring potential and family bloodlines that Christian Thomas has but if he is mentally weak by being heartbroken by not making the Rangers then there could be a problem. That can't be the reason...
Who really knows the reason why Thomas is off to a slow start? It could be a simple as his Girlfriend is pregnant... LOL... Just kidding... However, there is too much talent. Hopefully Thomas makes the WJC this year. He should be close to a lock to make the WJC this year

Haha, I only started this summer, man. It's why I'm hardly on here compared to former years. I post in between classes sometimes and at night (oh, and sometimes during my Torts class).

Even the strongest willed player would be heartbroken not making the NHL. It was clear that Thomas had one goal in mind -- to make the team. Everything that he said, that people around him said, etc. He thought he was going to be a Ranger this year. It happens all the time with kids. Some strong kids some weak kids. Thomas is just that, though. He's still a kid. Dude was probably upset as all hell that he didn't make the team. This will make him come back even stronger next year and, hopefully, blow everyone away.

I have a question. Do players like McIlrath, Miller, and Thomas get paid by the Rangers since they are under contract, but currently do not play with us or a farm team?

no...their contracts 'slide' while they are in juniors. so next year they will still have all 3 years left on their 3 year ELC deals.

I believe they get paid their signing bonuses, however - which is obviously a big incentive for them to sign on even years in advance of their opportunity to play for the NYR/HFD.
moose jaw traded colin bowman (who i think was mcilrath's d partner) to the calgary hitmen...
interesting to see how it impacts mcilrath if at all...on one hand he losses his d partner. but on the flipside he basically becomes 'the man' on moose jaw's blueline and is going to need to step up.
