That's another issue I have.

With DaCosta's recent play, I would have preferred to have Zibanejad as our 2nd line center instead of him. Not sure who they'll put in that position, but one thing's for sure is that DaCosta needs to step it up!

The decision is probably best, but I can't say I'm not disappointed that we won't get to see him play. It sure makes next year more exciting with Silverberg and him coming over.

The right decision was made, why take the chance with such a promising prospect.

Cue the Turris to Ottawa trade.

Right decision.

He wasn't ready in pre-season. It was just so obvious to me. I never wanted him on the roster, and this 9 game stint proved that to the GM. Glad we're not rushing him.

They can't make the best decision for this team in 2011-12 over the best decision for one of the most important players they have in the pipeline for the next 10-15 years.

I could see us as jovial about how right this move is next season when Mika's handling the puck and showing more confidence in the offensive zone.

-He'll have a full season to be counted on to do it, and he'll be given more room on bigger ice which I think in this scenario may actually be a good thing.

-He'll probably get some appearances with the Tre Krenor and a bonus may be him playing with Silfverberg.

-He'll wear a letter and quite possibly be a dominant skater at the WJC.

Still have to wonder what's going to happen with Daug after his strong game.

What happens when Alfy, Regin and Butler are all ready to come back? Maybe to a lesser extent Filatov.

Who sits/is sent down

I was fine either way. There is lot's of positives to him going down.

More Ice time

World Juniors

Lots of PP Time

Work on his offensive production

It's all good.

Ultimately if Daugy can keep it up and prove that's how he can play...he may have to wait until next year to permanent find a place when decisions are made on other players. Until then he may have to wait for injuries.

But who knows, maybe they let him stick.

I assume theres going to be a lot of rotating this year, plus Konopka doesn't play in every game, plus I bet Alfie sits a few games here and there for rest.

Excellent news, that being said injuries are inevitable and at this point I would not mind signing an extra foward whether to play with Bingo because of the callups or stay on an as a extra guy ala Steve Begin or Chris Clark

Absolutely the right decision. He was ok out there, but his offensive play was very lacking. He was too quick to shoot and tentative out there. Let him work on that in Sweden. My only concern now is who plays 2C role. With Regin out and Mika gone, it's really only between Da Costa and moving Foligno to center.

Don't think that had any effect on this decision. K-Daug isn't a center and I don't think they'll play in many of the same situations (Zibby on the PP, K-Daug on the PK).

If we're expecting an 18 year old kid like Zib to fill a vital spot like a #2 centre, there's a higher chance we'll end up calling him a bust.

Yeah I think this is the wrong decision, personally, but I trust management so if this is the case I hope he dominates in the SEL.

I really think we're going to see a difference in the energy of the team without him on Thursday.

Da Costa has been playing limited minutes on the 4th line, what did you expect him to do exactly? He'll now get a more prominent role and I'm almost certain he'll do better than Zibby has done so far. You can quote me on that.

Anyway, I'm fine with this decision. Good luck in Sweden Mika!

Definitely the right decision. He's an 18 year-old kid who is yet to play a dominant role in the SEL. Hopefully playing at the world juniors will further his development even more.

It'll be interesting to see how the 2nd line centre situation works itself out. Seems like the Sens have been looking for a 2nd line centre since franchise inception, doesn't it? If Regin is hurt long-term, DaCosta probably gets the job for now.

I really hope Daugavins gets some more games - his play last night was extremely impressive. I thought it was great that he got a shift or two in overtime last night over some more experienced forwards. Kid plays smart and physical, with a nose for the net.

I was thinking the same thing as soon as I heard the news.

Ottawa could easily put together a package to land him. Heck the rumour out of Calgary is Bourque for Turris straight up.

We can totally beat that.

He made it a difficult decision, which is pretty impressive for an 18-year old that we only just drafted a few months ago.

Good decision. With the experience under his belt, he will return next year with immediate dividends.

I think you might see Derek Grant or Jim O'Brien get recalled shortly as a result of this.

Would Locke be waiver eligible? I think that's the big reason it wouldn't be him if he was.
