Sam Gagner

He looks like he might of hurt his ankle. Tough to tell but he barely got off the ice under his own power.

Should have stated he did come back, but think it is still worth having the thread to update on if he is or isn't injured. Guys play after getting hurt not knowing they shouldn't.

Guess I should have noted that in my original post. Still thinks it's worthy to keep an eye on his injury. Players play through things and realize afterwards they are hurt.

Doesn't look like it will be as bad as his last injury. Knock on wood, of course.

I agree.

was very concerned/upset when it happened, but seeing him back out there so fast, I don't think anything happened

they wouldn't have let him back out there if it was serious, IMO

I was choked there was no penalty on the play. It looked like he was loose.

Post game show said he'll be hurting all year. Rob Brown talked about when he had a high ankle sprain that he wrapped it for 3-4 years.

It probably wouldn't have been a bad idea to send him down for a short conditioning stint before his return.

Yeah I wouldn't have been opposed to a short stint down in OKC for him, just to get back to game speed. He practically missed the entire preseason.

You still want to ice the best possible team though. And Gagner right now is still better than Omark. He'll get back to game pace quick enough

Totally disagree. Gagner was losing pucks, getting overpowered, forcing bad passes- definitely not better than what Omark has to offer.

Omark has done what so far this season? He's been a turnover machine so far. Really, neither player has been good so far.

No, he hasn't. In 5 games, he's been credited with 5 turnovers and 3 takeaways. Contrast that with Eberle, who has 9 turnovers and 2 takeaways, or team leader (in both categories!) Ryan Smyth, who has 10 turnovers and 10 takeaways. Anyway, I'd say Omark has been good so far in two games (though admittedly not producing on the score sheet), not good at all in two games, and meh in 1 game. Something about the nature of the player makes his fans only remember the good and his haters only remember the bad.

Yeah, and joining a line that's already been fighting it prior to his arrival doesn't help matters.

I'm not so sure about that, Gagner has had a rough go of it too. It may have been better to give him a week or 2 in OKC and let Omark hopefully build his trade value or show that he belongs.
