2 things:
1. Statement: I'm not afraid to start firing if the ship isn't righted.
2. Martin's replacement (should nothing change results-wise) will join the team soon as Assistant Coach.

HF, you never cease to amaze me.

Seems like a bit of a panic move with it coming down the afternoon of a game (Pearn was involved in the morning skate apparently).

I think it's harsh. The Habs have had to go with basically three rookie defensemen (though experienced as professionals, mind you) plus another guy that was signed mainly because he's "good in the room".

You can only protect your buddy JM for so long PG before you also find your butt going out the door with him..

Reeks of what the Leafs did, fired the asst's and left Wilson alone...seems odd?

It looks like swift and decisive action to me.

1-The Habs are sick.
2-They diagnosed what was wrong.
3-They found the culprit.
4-They fired him.

Things are fine now.

Maybe a sign of things to come if this spiral continues. I always liked Pearn, so I'm not really ecstatic to see him fired. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

He was involved in the morning skate, they had an off day between the last game and today. Had they done it this morning, or yesterday, or two nights ago it would have made more sense to me. Doing it right before a game seems weird.

Maybe Pearn ate the lunch Martin packed and there was a falling out.

I think we're reading into this too much. He was offered another position in the organization so obviously they must think he's doing something right and in addition, we had 4 coaches behind the bench. Granted we don't know which position, so as someone stated he could be the new janitor.

Loving the irony of how much of an impact Muller leaving has had, but firing one of the assistants will not do anything at all.

Hilarious.

He's probably a scout in Alaska looking for the next Gomez.
