When Cole hits someone, it really looks like it hurts. Like, rib-crushing hurts. Dude is solid. He doesn't really go for the big blow up hits, but those don't usually hurt that much anyway.
It feels good to see some Montreal representation in the top 30 hitters on NHL.com again. And this time, our best hitter isn't a turnover machine/pylon/faux tough guy.
I still don't see why people were going off on him being a bad signing. He's had maybe one bad game this season so far, the rest he's been one of our better forwards, it just took him a few games to show up on the scoresheet.
Someone already said it: stats = not the whole story. Cole's always been ****ing awesome for us!
He's been one of our best players, if not the best, the last 3 games. He looks so much better than Gionta and even Cammalleri. Unlike Gionta, he can actually create something when 1 on 1.
It's amazing to see a guy so fast with his size. Along with Pacioretty these are two guys we need to make any kind of push.
He could have at least 3-4 goals by now but he has been snake bitten.
Hopefully, management is taking notice...its no coincidence our best lines involve him, Pacioretty or Eller/AK and one of the worst combinations has been Gio-Pleks-Cammy. BIG bodies are necessary.

we dont look like smurfs when the smaller guys are spread trough the 4 lines, all the big guys arent heavy hitters (Eller for example), but having one of them on each makes it WAY tougher for the opponent to contain our offense.
I hope Gauthier, Gainey and others are watching and realize NOW that power forwards with SIZE, STRENGTH AND SKILL make differences and create scoring chances for smaller wingers on there respective lines.
This is why I wanted to draft a player like Tyler Biggs this pasy year!
I would love to see a line with Pacioretty - Eller - Cole one night ;-)
I knew back in his Cariolina games that he was a fluid skater, but I had no idea he had this hidden extra gear in him?! Mother of hell, when he goes after the puck, his speed is almost unmatchable. One thing that I noticed tonight is that he wasn't holding back as much, Martin has to figure out (yeah I know, it's an impossible job with his hard-headed mule) that forcing Cole to play that conservative defensive system will only make you hide his assets. He's really good along the boards, and when he hits, man does he hit hard! Anyways, yesterday was really a fun game to watch.
He did the small things that really made a difference. Pretty nice, before the Cammalleri goal I was mentioning how good DD/Cole/Cammalleri (CD/DC?) line looked.
