On the next Goal I blame the lack of defense, and that last goal, well the Sun was in my eyes, and what’s with Terry Murray playing me when Quick has this shut Out streak going anyways, so I blame Coach too, and the Fans for Booing me I blame them too, and … well I thought I did good though, just ask JT."

We had some 3-on-2 drills down low, where I could throw some cross-checks and use my body a little bit. Definitely a couple more practices would be helpful, but at the same time I feel ready to go and want to get in there and quick as I can. I hope there’s a possibility of playing tomorrow, I really want to play tomorrow, really badly. It sucks being out, obviously, but like I said I’m ready to play but at the same time, it’s really just in the training staff’s hands."

When we’re not really playing at optimal level, we have to have our compete. Tonight, it wasn’t there the whole game. From start to finish, it was a different — I don’t want to say feel — but it just wasn’t good enough tonight. We have to forget about it and let it go. I think what we need to avoid is another night like tonight."

Some nights, the game seems easy and other nights it seems like you’ve never put the gear on before. You’ve just got to battle through it a little better, and hopefully you come out on top. Some games, the game seems easy and some games it seems hard. It’s unfortunate that it happens, but you play 82 games and it is going to happen. You’ve just got to find a way to battle through it."

The bottom line is, the best players on New Jersey — you look at the score sheet — they’re the guys that determine the outcome of the game. We need to be better. Our best players have got to be better players in order to win games in this league. We just were not on top of it.
Absolutely the lack of Offense, that’s an area of concern when you look at the last three years. Our offensive game is not as good as what we need it to be. It’s been one of the lower stats that we look at, in 5-on-5 play over the years. I think everybody is aware of it. We’ve got to get more of a shot mentality. That is, no question, an area of concern. We look at the average shots on goal, as compared to the rest of the league, and we’re down to 27th, 28th in the league. So that has to improve in order to score. At the same time though, in saying that, I think we’ve had some really good looks. Last night, we had some opportunities, and we’re not finding the back of the net right now. We’ve just got to reinforce it, the good things that are happening, and build on it and I think it will start to turn around."

LET'S GO KINGS !!!

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Probably going to have to record this one, think it's a great chance to get 2 points on the board. Closing out October with three regulation wins is an achievable goal. I also see that two games in Phoenix would be out of the way, that's great too.

Looking forward to it.

The good news: Quickie is back in net going for 4 in a row. Highly unlikely but will be fun to root for him to keep going!

The bad news: With "No O Murray" There's going to be 0 creativity from the forwards tonight after all the turnovers last game. We are going to see nothing but dump and chase and hopefully we can deflect 1 or 2 into the net cause it's the only way I see us scoring.

Here's hoping the Kings can squeak one out. I'm going to do it, im going to call the shutout again. 1-0 Kings win. Kopi with the goal on the PP from richards and Johnson. Book it!

Nice to see the goalie with the hot hand back in net. It gives the guys some swagger when they step on the ice knowing they have the hottest player in the NHL behind them. Hope Doughty gets medical clearance but if he does play I expect Dallas to take a couple of shots at him early.

I'm looking for a somewhat stress-free game: Kings get a lead and cruise.

Kings 5-2.

Go KINGS!

The real queation is what's the attendance going to be like tonight? Maybe 6 - 8000? And it will be blamed on the WS gm 6. Their lower bowl has been virtually empty the last few years. I don't get it...

4,000 at most.

Has only been this year and last year for the most part. This year has taken it to an entirely new level.

I am looking for a big rebound. This next group of 4 games is important IMO. The Kings need to play to their capability, and not the opponents.

Our next 4 games are against teams who are probably not going to make the playoffs. Dallas is playing hard right now but they have had an easy go on the schedule. I just don't think they have the firepower when the play us, SJ, or Anaheim on a regular basis.

After these next 4 games...we play 7 of 8 against bonafide playoff teams. Pens, Sharks, 2 against the Ducks, and the Red Wings. Not to mention having to play Nashville on a 2nd game of a back to back with travel. THAT is going to be a tough stretch.

I'd like to see the Kings get on another win streak against teams that I feel we should beat, before we head into that tough stretch in November.

And for Dallas fans that drop by, I think Dallas is playing really well. You never know how much a team can be motivated by everyone picking them to do bad and having a cap floor payroll. There is alot of character in the Dallas' locker room and a goalie that may be realizing his potential after an injury-riddled career. I don't think you will make the playoffs, but I also don't think you will be an easy team to play.

Drew Doughty won’t play tonight, but the Kings will make one lineup move, with Scott Parse replacing Kevin Westgarth and stepping into a second-line role. Here’s how things are expected to look…

Gagne-Kopitar-Williams
Parse-Richards-Brown
Penner-Stoll-Richardson
Clifford-Lewis-Moreau

Terry Murray said Doughty has been cleared to practice, but not play, but said he was hopeful Doughty could play Saturday against Phoenix. More notes and quotes to come…
Looks like Voynov gets another game

What? CHI, @CHI, PHX, STL, CBJ, @CBJ, @ANA, @LA, @PHX. 2 back to backs. Only games that aren't against a playoff fighting team have been against Columbus. Don't get how we have had an easy go on the schedule when we've already played 9 games and 6 of those games are against playoff teams a year ago.

And our schedule isn't getting any easier. LA, COL, @CAR, @WSH, @PIT, @DET, FLA, @COL, SJ in our next 10 games with 2 more back to backs thrown in there.
