I was hoping that said "confirmed with link", lmao.

We'll take anyone that makes less than Antoine, doesn't matter if they're good or not.

Wow he can't be that bad can he? I remember this guy was a utility stud for his days in Ottawa! Nothing left in him? I'm wondering if him playing LW to Gabby and Richie would take pressure off him and get him back to that 60 pt level of production if not more...

.....as long as it is a defenseman named Girardi, which is a non starter due to their injury situation.

Dont mind timeless hes a bit pissed that were 0-7-1. Vermette is worth a solid d man. So basically Girardi....a.k.a. were not very good trading partners.

It was reaction on Wolski not thinking serious... why we would take Wolski for Vermette? Absolutely useless player for us.

Couldn't say it any better if I tried. Why would we trade Antoine Vermette to the Rangers? Send us Dylan McIlrath and a second rounder, or Girardi and a third. Vermette is still in his prime ... players have cold starts, it happens. He's still a solid third/decent second liner, who wins faceoffs, puts up 50-60 points consistently, and plays in all situations. We don't have enough players like this to be able to throw one of them away for Wojtek Wolski, for sure. We're trying to get better now, not completely flush everything down the crapper for an underachiever.

I'm scout in the WHL ... if you're selling Dylan McIlrath up the river already, we'll gladly take him off your hands. Upset because you didn't get Fowler...?

why would the Rangers need Fowler.. I still believe Del Zotto has something in him.. Unlike the 99% of Ranger fans who deemed him bust after one bad sophomore slump.. McIlrath we don't need him with the D we have (assume its healthy) with Staal Girardi, McDonagh, Sauer, MDZ, Erixon and Eminger.. That's a freaking young D.. we don't need McIlrath either.

I'd take McIlrath for Vermette, at the deadline at least. Relieves some cap space and gets us a defenseman like no other in our system.

This was my point exactly.

I'm firmly against trading Antoine Vermette, but if we're out of the mix and the Rangers want another ugly contract, let's make the deal and bring in a wrecking ball. Our defense is the softest in the league, this guy would be huge for us.

Great names being thrown out here....Wolski and McIlrath.

Vermette's liquid value is probably a low-first or early-second round pick straight up. Wolski wouldn't come close to that, especially with that contract. McIlrath wouldn't either. Del Zotto wouldn't, but he's more valuable than either of Wolski or McIlrath. Del Zotto AND McIlrath would be interesting.
