Lindell is much better offensively than Lindbohm, so it's natural that he gets the extra ice time, especially on power play. They both need to improve their skating and defensive game, big difference is that Lindbohm is stronger and therefore more ready to play with men. Lindell has potential, but he's still a very much a work in progress. Will be interesting to see how much he can improve during the season.
Lindell is now 3rd in A-SM scoring and 1st in d-man scoring by six points to the next. Heard he had a good game tonight, was key in the 4-3 win over Hifk, scored the tying 3-3 goal and assisted on the winning goal. Logged nearly 30 min of icetime, next d-man had 23min. Getting lots of responsibility, hope it helps his development.
Can anyone share their impressions of Henri Ikonen and Teuvo Teravainen's performances in their three SM-Liiga game so far? Neither one has registered a point in their limited icetime, but I was wondering how they've adapted to the higher level of competition.
He's clearly been a beast offensively but Minnesota has been really good in the WCHA, they've scored 35 goals in 6 games. So the stats could be a bit missleading but never the less, he's off to a great start. It'll be interesting to see when he turns pro since NHL teams don't lose the rights to college kids until 5 years after the draft. So he could play there two more years after this season.

Could be misleading yeah that he wont be able to keep up his 2.33 PPG pace, but he's leading his team in scoring with 14 points, and for comparison, 2010 first rounder Bjugstad has "only" 9 points, and 2009 2nd rounder Zach Budish (same draft class as Haula) has 6 points.
Has a Finn ever been even nominated for the Hobey Baker? Doubt it. Even that would be great for Haula himself and I guess it's not that farfetched if he keeps going.
There's a lot of talk about Esa Lindell but Otso Rantakari is another good offensive d-man from Jokerit.-He's a late -93 so the same draft year as Lindell and he's a right-handed shot. 17 points (4+13) in 15 games, +2 better +/- than Lindell but plays about 5min less per game. They are a d-pairing so they play a lot together as well. He's 180/72.

But Haula has most points on the team and has been maybe the best player of the "really good" team. That sounds even more impressive

If Haula continues to be that dominant in the league, I dont think he should stay there for another year. It would(!) be great if Minnesota Wild's next season's roster will be including both Granlund and Haula

I don't think Haula will leave Minnesota after just one year. Seems like he appreciates the education aspect as well.

Teuvo Teräväinen has been huge riser after Ivan Hlinka! 2 of the 3 mock drafts at NHL.com ranked him in the first round. he was ranked 29th and 16th. Teuvo Teräväinen has in my opinion huge potential to suprise. He has great work ethic added with his speed, elite vision and hands. IMO hes better prospect than Pulkkinen. 180cm and 84kg is kinda smallish but he was like 179 and less than 70kg last season. I would be happy if he ends up as an 1st rounder.

I'm really not convinced that he's 84kg, it must be a typo. How can he possibly gain over 10kg of mass in one year? His speed has only gotten better from last year and you'd think his speed would've been affected after gaining a whopping 14 kg in a short period of time
But yes, a huge raiser, didn't think it was possible for him to improve so much in one year
I'm really suprised about his skating which is really good! Westerlund was even calling it "a more natural stride than Sami Vatanen" and that is quite impressive. Hopefully he gets more games under his belt in the big league, tears up the U18 games and keeps on rising for the Draft in June.

Hmm.. Heard of Nikita Kucherov? I doubt he would have been a 2nd round pick without the U18 games.
