Bobby Clarke had 0 goals, 1 assist and 2 penalty minutes in his first 4 games. What a crap player!

So you're saying that we've found our next next Bobby Clarke?

Sucks Schenn got injured I felt he was just settling in. He's had some nice plays(should've had his first assist on the 2nd Jagr breakaway vs Toronto), and I do see some Mike Richards in the way he plays. Get well soon Schenn.

Schenn will be out for at least 4 weeks.

They put him on LTIR and his salary comes off in favour of Gus and Rinaldo - or am I missing something???

This fan base is hilarious. Thank god for the several posters that have an idea. Schenn looked like our best player for long stretches

I think that's a bit over the top, don't you.

I think it can reasonably be said that Schenn did not look out of place--which itself is a pretty significant achievement in his first few games with the team.

No I really don't think it's over the top. All we have had to hear about so far is

+ Schenn ruined the chemistry, it's all his fault.
+ Schenn has looked really bad, no drive ect
+ All that nonsense about Rinaldo, even when he was playing well.
+ The goaltender controversy ( please.........)
+ TRADE HARTNELL
+ TRADE JVR!!
+ Jagr sucks, what a joke.
+ Bob for president

And that doesn't touch the surface. Doesn't matter that we are 9 games into the season, and have won more than we have lost lol

I don't think you quite "got" his post. By over the top I believe he meant calling him the best player out there.

I'm almost afraid to ask... but how do those things relate to my asking whether you seriously think Schenn has been out best player for long stretches?

I hope people aren't really so delusional that they believe Schenn played well...I fully believe he will improve once he manages to find a groove, but he was clearly not playing well.

I really hate to see him miss out on months of valuable learning time, though. Hopefully he can at least take that time to learn a little more about the NHL off the ice, but injuries are never good for development. This is unfortunate.

That's a bold statement to make about a 20 year old kid who has had a great junior career and AHL stint and has only played what, 15 games in the NHL? I sincerely hope this post is sarcastic or this board is becoming more of a joke than I had thought.

EDIT: I guess Zibanejad is a career NHLer too. What about the guys that didn't even make the team yet? Jack Campbell career AHL goalie probably. Niedereiter on the Island too is probably a career NHLer. Come on!

This isn't the worst thing that could have happened.

Now Couturier gets moved up, which is well deserved. Schenn's flashed a couple times, but Couturier has been excellent. Also, Rinaldo comes back into the lineup and gives this team some much needed physicality and grit.

Hopefully by the time Schenn's ready to come back, Couturier has cemented his place on one of the top three lines and Rinaldo on the fourth.

Since goals are what wins games, yes, thus far he has been better at even strength than anyone on the team. Questioning that is laughable, do I think he "is" better? No, but he's played amazingly well for his age and he more than deserves to stay on a team that has struggled defensively.

Ah right sorry.

Yeah, Schenn has put in some really solid shifts when he was called up. He looked awesome along the boards and create a fair few chances. I did say best forward for stretches and not all. Giroux, Jagr and Hartnell have looked very impressive i must admit.

Schenn is on LTIR. Walker is still on the roster.

Good.

Presumably they aren't calling Gus up to sit in the booth. Gus will dress, one of Lilja or Walker will sit, but we're still protected if somebody else goes down (*knocks on table*).

A little competition between Lilja and Walker for the 6th spot can't hurt.
