I wouldn't say it's "good" because we lose him and get nothing in return.
I'm not surprised at all though, Pete knows his play better than anyone!
yeah, not good is the correct answer - he's a young nhl player who ought to have some value. would have to guess that tallon tried to shop him before taking the chance, especially with the new guys coming over for booth (e.g., pretty obvious there was no room for him).

He's been waived a bunch of times and has never been anything other than a 4th liner.

The guy has no value, in terms of a trade.
so... 4th liners don't have any value? i could find only one other instance of him being waived. i don't think we've waived him before.
anyhow, moot point. i hadn't seen enough of him to really comment. was just reiterating previous comment that it wasn't "good". at worst, he was depth and help for SA.
I was surprised to see that Caps fans liked him so much. I was rather uninformed about him when we signed him. Thought he was just depth.
But then I looked at his #'s, and you basically see that he's been around the 20 point mark a lot of years in his career. Even has a season high of 24. Combine that with his willingness to drop the gloves and he's just a really good 4th liner to have right now, especially since he's clicked with Matthias.
Hordichuk didn't have such skill. Hordichuk basically had no skill with the exception of throwing some hits and dropping the gloves. He has a career high of 13 points in one season, and has never reached double digit point totals in any other year. You can't roll 4 lines consistently with him, imo.
It's not just DeBoer. If you look at the ice time of players like Hordichuk around the league, the ice time for those players is way down.

The Ducks put him on waivers on multiple occasions.
I agree with your SA comment, though.
Just saying players like him don't have much value, if any at all.
Bradley and Hordichuk don't compare, not in terms of fighting.
I'd rather have Janssen over the four. I don't know it would be close with Bradley I guess. Boulton can't skate worth a lick, and not the biggest Hordi fan, not the best fighter, doesn't out right win many fights for a fighter.

None of them are great fighters, Janssen isn't what he was a couple years ago, but in terms of fighting ability, I take him as well. I like what Bradley has brought so far, though.
