Anyone know anything about Balazs Sebok?

he's a Hungarian player playing for Kärpät U18 in the Jr. B SM-sarja Q(which i'm not entirely sure what that is), looks like he's doing pretty decently. it looks like he really lit up u16 2 years ago.

he's only 16, and 6'1. I'm really rooting for him to someday make the NHL someday because he's Hungarian.

does anyone know more about him and his chances of at least being drafted in 2013(?)?

Not really, but I really like how Hockey is becoming more and more popular here in Hungary. I live in Budapest and I see people with hockey gear taking the tram from time to time.

Reminds me of Janos Hari's story TBH.

- Very talented Hungarian
- Playing in Fenno-Scandinavia (Hari played for Färjestad, now MoDo; Sebok is with Kärpät)

Only difference is Sebok is quite a bit bigger than 5'9", 155 lbs Hari.

i dunno. i don't know how good Vas was back when he was 16-18ish. i'm not even sure how good Sebok is. it just looks like from his numbers he's pretty decent. i just want a Hungarian to play in the NHL.

Last season was tough for Sebok, he had some injury problems. He seems to be getting back on track this season, just played his first Jr.A game.

His stats so far this season:
Jr.B (U18) Qualifications - 8gp 2g+3a=5p
Jr.B (U18) across Qualifications – 3gp 0g+0a=0p
Jr.B (U18) - 2gp 1g+5a=6p
Jr.A (U20) - 1gp 0g+0a=0p

He’s not an obvious draft prospect at this point, but that could change if he has a real breakthrough season next year. At least he seems passionate about hockey and works hard.

Balazs Sebok (Sebők Balázs) is one of Hungary’s best 1994-born players. Last year, he played for Hungary’s U18 and U20 W.C. teams. Two other 1994-born players were on both teams as well - goaltender Adam Vay currently playing in Slovakia and forward Aron Konczei currently playing in Sweden. One Hungarian youngster to keep an eye on is Konczei's teammate on Flemingsberg - 1996-born Vilmos Gallo.

There is an article about Sebok in the Hungarian Hockey Thread.

Besides Sebok, there are two other 1994-born Hungarians playing in Finland – forward Krisztian Nagy and goaltender Oliver Agoston.
