Kings will send him down since he will not pass through waivers..

Unless they can trade Wisky for a pick or something..

Fun game to watch, glad we were able to close it. The posts at the end of the gdt make me so happy.

Love this board, even when they don't believe, love my team, and I haven't even had my vodka yet.

Go Kings! It's going to be a nice season.

I'd like to see Voynov stay up but honestly there's no room for him and he's the only waiver exempt defensemen we have. I'd rather send him back to Manchester and have him able to come up for the next, inevitable injury to a defenseman than to waive Drewiske and then have someone get injured.

Play the hot hand? Must mean Murray is surely going to send him down.

Yes. Quick was solid too.

Parse was....well, alright. He did get a goal but then got called twice.

I wonder what is going to happen with Voynov. I have a feeling he is going to get set down.

My thoughts exactly. It's only been handful of games but VV has outplayed him by a mile, BUT AMart is a good chip to have. You gotta think Davis is going somewhere else....

My thinking as well. Dallas and Phoenix are two teams the Kings need to own if they want a Pacific Division title.

A good win. Great to see young Voynov playing with confidence. Loved the commentary, along the lines of Voynov meaning Doughty in russian.

Don't look it up and guess which King has the highest +/-.

Fair point, but Drewiske is pretty expendable at the moment.

In the case of two injuries, Hickey would be the next one in line. He was equal to Voynov through much of camp, I would be totally comfortable with him as the first call-up going forward.

I dunno man, two rookies our of 6 guys on D could be pretty hairy.

JJ was such a beast defensively tonight. Its incredible how improved he is in that area. Let's hope he keeps up the level of play when DD returns.

Question. Say we waive/trade DD44 and let voynov stay. And then for whatever reason it doesn't work out and we need a defensive D back there. How easy would it be for the Kings to acquire a decent D who has an equal or cheaper contract than DD44?

dd44 sent down or traded. in the long run he isn't in the plans face it. so send him to MAN and if he doesn't clear then so be it. you now have two good young promising D in AMart and VV to alternate in the line-up while learning at the top level. carrying dd44 for an entire season as 'insurance' and seeing maybe 20 games does nothing for the team or the development of the younger guys.

DL just tear off the band-aid and be done with it
DL just fish or cut bait

dd44 was a good insurance policy while the kids grew up in MAN. well another kid has shown he is ready. Harrold was let go, because of the emergence of AMart last year. VV is now ready so the next guy has to go and that is dd44

OT...wow, what a game by crazy ass game between the Jets and Flyers. 9-8 is more of a baseball score.

That Richards guy sucks, who the **** does he think he is? Three points, one pretty much manufactured by his winning a faceoff and stealing the puck, give me a break, clearly not doing enough. Play harder, guy.

With regard to any Simmonds argument, he wouldn't be playing the PP for the Kings, and he was turning over the puck like crazy last season. There was nothing I saw in 11-12 to indicate he was a mandatory keeper type player. And there's really no telling what he'll do the rest of this season as well. However, we do know what we're going to get from Richards, and our team is probably best constructed to win in the next 4-5 years before the UFA pinch kicks in and lots of guys need a raise or have to leave. Richards will be more crucial to winning in the next 4-5 seasons than the players that were dealt. That is all.

Muzzin is not a bad option as the #8 defenseman. The problem is more of who do you take out of the top 6 to make room for him. The only guy is Martinez. I guess you could platoon the 2.

Flyers scored 8 goals and Simmonds with 0 points in nearly 20 minutes of ice time.

Great win tonight. Didn't score the first goal on the road and still managed to win.

You know... I think we still lead the league in drafted players making the team with 11 players being our products. That's nearly half the team... If that isn't "building from within" I'm not sure what is.

Kopitar on Voynov
Quote:
“He’s playing really well. He’s a big part of our power play. He’s logging a lot of minutes in the 5-on-5. He’s playing against the top two lines of theirs, so I’m pretty sure if he keeps it up like that, it might be a tough decision for the head guys.’’
