For all the TM haters: hope you saw the Mitchell interview after the game. Dallas plays a system that clogs the neutral zone, making puck carrying into offensive zone difficult. One of the adjustments the Kings made from the first to second game was to use the dump and chase a lot more, which resulted in a much harder forecheck. Willie pretty much said that Dallas D sucks (inexperienced is what he actually said) and the Kings wanted to exploit them, which didn't occur last Sat.

I would think that would count as a backup goalie. We wouldn't stand a chance

I find it funny that this occurred just as Quickie had a "capture this picture" contest on the flight to Dallas.

Exactly.

When Voynov stays it might be Martinez that loses his spot.

I am going to cut somebody if Voynov gets sent down.

And against teams with "experienced" defenders TM will use the dump and chase claiming that they are so talented they have to get on top of them to make it harder on them. It's the same system regardless of who they are playing.

Disagree. I've seen a lot more puck carrying this year than previous years. I think having Gagne and Richards helps a lot in this area.

I know, I loved it. I was rooting for the Cards since I can't stand the Rangers.

Those two do such a good job of making quick, clever passes that keeps the puck moving and the defense scrambling. And how many times has Richards passed a puck right to the doorstep for one of our guys to jam in? He might be our best passer. These ain't cheap assists he's getting here, that's for sure.

It only took Voinov one game to:

Lead the NHL in goals by a rookie defenseman...
Tie for the NHL lead in points by a rookie defenseman...
Equal the NHL lead in +/- by rookie defensmen....

Despite only playing 5 games.

Waivers be damned, keep him.
