Kris Draper's career high was 24 goals, 40 points. McCarty's career high is 19 goals, 49 points. Draper was the 3rd line C on that Detroit team in 03-04 with Maltby on the LW scoring 14 goals and 33 points. Barely 70 points between them, nevermind just the C. And McCarty was a 2nd/3rd line tweener on that Detroit team in 97-98 when he posted those numbers. Yes a guy on a BACK to BACK Stanley Cup Champion played some 2nd line with less than 50 points and less than 20 goals.

These are the 5 on 5 rankings which are much more dismal:

23rd 11/12 (most of the teams ahead of them have a game or two in hand)
17th 10/11
19th 09/10
30th 08/09

15th 07/08
24th 06/07
Good post Buddy.

I've been saying all along that if we're unsuccessful on 4 out of 5 power plays, consider that good. And if we're unsuccessful on 3 out of 4, consider it great!

Posters in general have unrealistic expectations when it comes to power plays. So, no matter who our pp coach is people are going to continue to complaint.

PP% doesn't have as much to do with long term team success. 5-on-5 scoring has a much bigger correlation to success. In the short term, yes a PP can carry for and it has for the Kings in the first 8 games. That and Quick being below 1 GAA.

Fix the 5-on-5 scoring (top 10) and the Kings will win the Pacific. Fixing the PP gets the Kings another bottom 4 spot in the playoffs, just like when they had the 7th best PP in the NHL.

Well that is my point in posting those numbers. The whole PP myth is a red herring. The issue with this team and has been for some time, is even strength scoring. The Kings do have the personnel to score goals now. It is up to the coach to put them in a position to succeed because as Herby said, there are no excuses this year. I think most of us agree on that.

Yeah, one.

Where do you find your facts?

Draper's career high was 24, which he only did once. Other than that, never broke 15in a season. McCarty's high was 19, which once again he did only once. His next best is 15.

Maybe actually fact check something before posting it. You're already looking like an idiot and a troll, why make it even worse?

So why dont exect that.

We would be the first team ever to have scoring center like that.

Just because it has never been done doesnt mean we can't do it.
If the Oilers can't do it, when the game was wide open and they had guys like Gretzky and Messier up the middle for 7-8 years, in what way does any team have the ability to do it now? No wonder you are such a pessimist, you're expectations are so high. we'd have to set records of epic proportions and, in your words, dominate to make up for 400 years of misery (not even sure where you pulled that from) to appease you.

Why do you 'cheer' for this team? Even if we won the cup, you'd say we didn't win it convincingly enough.
