Reputable Rankings of 1997, 1998, and/or 1999 Born Prospects

Discussion is appreciated and encouraged, but more than anything I need rankings from reputable sources or at least online databases to scour.
Thanks.

EDIT: Ideally only American players. If all thats available is an overall list, I'll take what I can get.

It's very unlikely that you'll get reputable rankings for kids that young. There's not many 'reputatble' ones for '95s and 96s.

I'm trying to compile a list for someone to scout off of. This isn't "just cuz".

Its somewhat of an Oxi-Moron. The kids at 12-13 that are the top kids very very rarely are the top ones at 18, which is why people rarely will watch players at that age, its not worth the effort.

At first glance I thought you wanted rankings of players drafted in 97,98,99. I was having a hard time figuring out why.

Kids are wayyy too young to even be looked at with much/any seriousness. At that age their focus should be on making the best minor hockey teams they can make. Around 15 is when scouts start to take serious looks in preparation for Juniors.

How was it with Mario Lemieux, Wayne Gretzky or Sidney Crosby ?
I think, that scouts liked those guys, when they were 14 or maybe younger.. Or im wrong?

Yes they did. And if I remember correctly (I know he said this but I might have the age wrong) Bowman called Lemieux "the best prospect he had ever seen" when he was 12 or something.

The guys you mentioned are generational talents, they were probably the very best at 6 years old.

In General kids that young, it is a crap shoot to rank them. Tiger is right.

I remember reading about Sidney Crosby in The Hockey News in early 1999. That would have made him 11 at the time.

You don't get many Crosbys in the world. Good luck with your evaluations of twelve-year-olds.

Finding rankings for these players is probably asking for too much, but asking for a few names of standout kids isn't ridiculous. Nathan mackinnon has been talked about on this board for almost 3 years now and he's 16, same with alex forsberg. Still lots of time to see if they live up, but as of now they're both still elite prospects

Yeah exactly, this is what I'm looking for. Just the absolute top guys. A ranking would be nice but its not a necessity. I just need to get a few names to check out.

Top 97s I've heard of are connor mcdavid from ontario, luc deschenes from nb, and nathan noel from nfld. The only one of those I've actually seen is deschenes and he didn't impress me that much but he was playing up a level and was captain of team nb at the atlantic challenge cup.
