There was a video played during the first play stoppage for Karpovtsev, Marek, Rachunek, and Boogaard.

They did a video remembering all of the fallen Rangers this past summer during the first tv timeout. I'm surprised Boogard didn't get his own moment of silence since he was a teammate of the guys from last year, and many are still here.

Thought they would do it before the National Anthem with both teams on the ice.

Was it on TV or was it just at the game?

another heinous oversight by The P.R midget John Rosasco. he has no idea what is really important to Ranger fans.

The Rangers had pregame silence for Alexei Cherepanov (R.I.P.), but not for a whole team players + Belak, Rypien, Boogaard?

The Rangers felt that only people who paid through the ******* to watch sub-pro hockey deserved the memorial video, which in reality was quite long, lasting the whole stoppage.

This was disapointing to hear, I thought Boogard at least was honored with his own moment of silence based on his contribution last season, although he was injured most of the time. I liked him alot and was kind of touched by his story especially his deep concern of the player he almost killed some years ago. He called him almost daily afterwards to hear how he was doing.

Ok, I will be the first to say it. He doesn't deserve his own tribute. A tragedy whenever someone dies young, for sure, I feel for his family. But lets get back to reality, the guy killed himself from substance abuse. Not like he died from pure misfortune.

How about Lokomotiv? Most of the players played for the NHL clubs at some point of their career and some for NY Rangers. I don't really care what other clubs did or did not do, I wanted to see Rangers being a first class organization. I guess taking an interview from one of the Sopranos actor that doesnt give a **** about Rangers and NHL at pregame show is much more important.

It doesnt matter how he died, he was a great person and a fairly good hockey player with his special role. We dont know why he did what he did but it was a tragedy and he deserved better.

People have demons, drug addiction believe it or not IS a disease. To say Derek didn't deserve a moment of silence is heartless and ignorant to keep it polite. I was shocked.

They paid tribute to him during a TV time out. I thought it was sufficient.

The hockey game, however, was a waste of my time and money.

If he is the one responsible for the "B" list "celebrities" and abortion of previous years opening game ceremonies he should be fired immediately.

Watching the game at home wondering why there was no tribute to Boogie or the KHL guys. Then Joe mentions they showed a video during a TV timeout ? WTF is that crap

This company is in the heart of NYC. You can't throw a stick and not hit a decent promoter, party planner, event specialist, or media guru and this is the kind of event they put on ? The Sopranos ? the show hasn't been on in years. the sleezy kid with green hair ?

pathetic and an embarrassment

I was pretty shocked they chose to do a tribute during a TV timeout. This organization usually does things first rate when it comes to things like that. Poor decision.

Would have been nice to have a small tribute to the Lokomotiv tragedy - those guys were victims of a cruel fate.

While still a tragedy, I cant fault MSG for not bringing a large amount of attention to a guy that died because he took too many pills and drank too much alcohol. Still a tragedy, as everyone says Boogaard was a nice guy, but its a different situation when you bring it upon yourself.
