Nj-bos

Well, it seems like Krejci may be the odd man out in Beantown with the emergence of Seguin. How about this deal to NJ?

To NJ: David Krejci

To Bos: Tedenby, Merrill WSH 2nd

Why would the Bruins do that? Only Tedenby is a current asset, the rest are futures.

I think the value is decent, but Boston still wouldn't do it.

If Boston could improve anywhere, it'd be on the wings. Plus having Merrill and Hamilton on the back line will set them up for years once Chara's play diminishes/ he retires

Tedenby has a ton to prove, Merrill has some pretty severe questions floating around about him, and a 2nd doesn't bridge the gap. Worse yet its a Washington 2nd, so it's practically a 3rd.

I'd sooner the Bruins just hold on to Krejci if all they can get back is 3 nickles for their quarter.

I think the Bruins could get more than that for Kreji. What would you want from the Sabres. We got lots of wingers and defensive prospects. I know intra-division trades are tough to pull off but it could make for an amping up of the rivalry.

Why would the Bruins trade Krejci for prospects? They are in 'win now' mode, and they have plenty of prospects already. I could only see Krejci dealt for a superstar type player.

Boston has more then enough depth/role players, as well as having a couple of prospects with the ability to step into a bottom 6 NHL role (maybe even top 6) right now. If they moved Krejci it would no doubt be for an upgrade on the wings or on the backend. Since I doubt Buffalo would seriously consider moving a guy like Vanek, or Adam, I doubt there's much thatd be of interest to them.

Honestly, it'd be hard for a reasonable trade to be proposed on this board, most fans want their team to work the aforementioned 3 nickles for a quarter type scenario as evidenced by the OP (with one of those nickles of course being the ever coveted 2nd round pick). Most Bruins fans aren't going to want to trade a guy like Krejci for that type of deal, and would no doubt rather see Chia work a deal in which he packages Krejci and a guy like Caron for a better piece.

The point is to get a center to play with Parise, not trade Parise for a center...

So which one of Bergeron, Peverley, Seguin or Krejci plays wing?

Yes. Just like three years ago when it was Savard-Krejci-Bergeron.

Edit: Misread but as others stated Pevs and Seguin have played wing here.

Seguin and Peverly both do actually.

Considering Peverley has been playing the wing since he got to Boston, I think it's safe to say he's not part of the discussion. Currently, Chris Kelly is the guy that you're referring to.

With that being said, I do think it's beyond reasonable to think that Krejci might get moved to shake the roster up. However, it's not going to be for a smattering of lesser players and futures like the OP proposes. There are plenty of teams that could use a proven top 6 center, the trick is finding a team that has a scoring winger to spare. Not that there is any substantiation behind it, but it would probably be something along the lines of David Krejci for Evander Kane. Not David Krejci for a bunch of stuff that isn't going to impact the roster.

I think its ok value wise, but it wouldnt help the Bruins reach the Cup again.

Nice proposal.

He absolutely is not "untouchable." If we can get a dynamic winger in exchange for Krejci then you have to at least consider it. Think about it, Seguin could step into second line center (and have Kelly/Peverley there to step in if he stumbles) and then Kelly/Peverley on third line.

Might need more depth there but that cant be fixed (aka deadline deal for Kelly last year).

would the Bruins be more interested if a current asset like Zubrus or Clarkson was added?

He is. Chia likes center depth. Unless its for an overpayment, he is untouchable. This same thing happened when Savard was healthy.

Keep in mind he led the league in playoff scoring last year.

It would in the future. It makes them a bit weaker right now, but better in the future
