Scotty is steady and dependable, surprised he never got a shot somewhere.

I dislike this giant waiver thread.

Carter is a nothing fringe talent. Cup of coffee down the line, then to Europe to make some money.

According to half the posters in the Ducks forum, he was always in Carlyle's dog house and never got a fair chance

Updated the first post to include all waiver transactions so far this season (I think...). It took A LONG time.

Habs should pick him up just in case Pacioretty's injury is serious. Don't wanna see Emelin suit up as a forward.

This thread always throws me for a loop. I log-on, look, and think "Holy crap, why is there a 10+page thread for Ryan Carter getting waived?!"

Bah! I fixed it only to ruin it again. I had it finished and I had Nashville claiming him from Nashville, instead of fixing the one team, I did both. lol. Will fix.

Winnipeg puts Aaron Gagnon on waivers today, per Bob McKenzie. He's coming off the Injured Reserve and needs to clear before going to the AHL.

On his way to the Phoenix AHL affiliate Portland shortly I would imagine. Can't see another team claiming him after seeing his play in Winnipeg.

Catch the bus to Portland Brett. Any chance a team with shaky goaltending gambles on Desjardins?

I hope not, I want to see him get starts in Lake Erie and remain with the Avs for next season to see what he has in camp after a full healthy year in the minors.

Did MacLean make some post waiver comments regarding Pheonix that I missed or something?

Why has Colorado waived Desjardins? I thought he was a decent prospect, was coming along better than Pickard anyways.

Yeah I don't really understand it either. I'm guessing it's because he's coming off of injury and has to go through waivers before playing in LE.

Well, Desjardins is 26, not quite a "prospect" especially compared to Pickard. But regardless, it might be related to him coming off his injury? Does he have to clear waivers to be assigned to the AHL?

I probably wouldn't mind trying to take a shot at MacLean. I think Palushaj needs just 1 more full season in the AHL and with expiring contracts up front he might have his shot for next season.

MacLean would be more ideal for 3rd line or 4th line roles than Palushaj.

If MacLean was acquired, we could send Palushaj down and have a guy like MacLean with a bit more size and play with some guys like Moen, Kostitsyn, Eller, and Cole and such.

Not saying he would pan out for sure or anything. Just think he would be a better depth guy for the Habs over Palushaj who IMO is only effective in top 6 mins like he is in the AHL.

MacLean would not hurt anything but just have the depth and possible asset on the team if he can turn in to anything decent on the 3rd line. He is a right handed shot is 6'1, 200lbs. 2 points in 5 games +1 not that bad.

I would definetly put that claim in for him.
