Winning divisional games, 1st in the West, guess we don't have to fire Renney this week after all!

Smyth's best game since coming back.

Gagner and Paajarvi finally starting to generate some chances.

Dubnyk was lights out; who would've guessed our goaltending would be this dam good???

Dallas has won 2 games in the shootout. Both teams have same points and ROW, Oilers have better goal differential.

Whole team looked sleepy tonight but they worked for one.

Usually don't do that bad at faceoffs or run around that much on the PK.

And Jones was tripping over himself all night. More than usual, I mean. I'd like to see Paajarvi on that line in his place.

I'm not sure if it counts or not, but the Oilers also have less loser points.

Apparently there's a world series or something... I dunno Oilers are #1 in the West. That's pretty much a million times more important in Canadian sports IMO

NHL.com just updated and the oilers are, in fact, at the top of the western conference.

As a hockey lover it's really difficult not to like Landeskog. He's just a pure hockey player. Loved it when he skated up to O'Brien and gave him credit for standing up for him. And he didn't ***** about the check from Sutton either, just put some cotton up his nose to stop the bleeding and kept on playing.
Landeskog is going to be a beast. He's gonna replace Iggy as the guy you respect and hate at the same time.

I think the Edmonton/Colorado rivalry just took a step in a new direction.

RNH is gonna be a contract year player book it!

Peckham and Jones are not very good hockey players.

The rest of the team seems to be doing their jobs.

Really love the Lander Petrell combo. Lander is so smart in his own end and Petrell is just pure effort.

St Louis is a winable game at home, so hopefully we take care of business and head into the road trip with some momentum.

I thought this was going to be a very very difficult game to win since it was an extremely tough back to back. Dubnyk was outstanding! Up front I thought Belanger's line showed a ton of hustle. Loved Horcoff and Smyth's games as well.

On d I really liked the play of Barker, Sutton, Smid, and Gilbert. Peckham was out of a position a few times.

6-2-2. I will take it. Let's go for another win on Sunday against St.Louis because we then hit the road for a bunch. Gutsy win Oilers!

I'd say the team lucked out a win last night and barely held on. Don't think that was the case tonight.

The Avalanche had a boat load of shots, but Dubnyk really didn't need to stand on his head. He made big saves when he needed too, but we didn't lean on him like we did with Khabibulin last night.

Nope. That's not looked at in tie breakers.

Points.
Regulation and Overtime Wins.
Head to Head record measured in points.
Goal Differential.

In that order.

Felt like Colorado was just tossing a lot of pucks towards the net. No side-to-side five star saves like Khabibulin had to put up with last night.

Good game, guys. Your team reminds me of the Colorado team from 2 years ago that bent but didn't break and scored timely goals.

yeah the caps game felt like a squeaker. Despite the shot difference, I didn't feel like this game was in much danger for more than many a few incremental stretches.

So looks like they gave the third goal to Smyth. 1 goal 2 assists on the night. 3 goals 5 assists for 8 points in 10 games. Gotta love that kind of production haha.
