PG has the final say for sure. When a player gets called up or sent down, that falls on the gm's shoulders. Not saying that it isn't a dicussion between them since clearly it's the case but unless you were there, it's silly to bash JM for something that is PG's job.
I beleive the DG discusses this with the coach on who he wants to call up. That is actually the coaches job. But obviously the DG has last word and makes the call.
Is Conboy still injuedÉ Palushaj was **** all pre-season and **** so far this season, too. Call somebody.. anybody else!! Ok, anybody but him and Enqvist!
I know Moen is our leading scorer... I'm not stupid. But first of all, do you really think that's going to last? Do you really think Chris Kelly is going to be one of Boston's top scorers come years end? There are plenty examples league wide of guys on hot starts. Kent Huskins.. is he really going to finish the year with 50-60 points? Seriously?
I think Moen on a defensive/energy line that gets good ice-time would help because they would wear down the other teams.
But I am also open to keeping him on a scoring line with Eller & Kostitsyn.
Darche has as many goals as Mr. $4.5M this year. And our Captain.
very much agree with the bolded. If we really wanna build around price, then we need to protect him better, make his job easier. We need to look at signing/developing Dmen who clear the crease and protect the net. If carey gets that protection and gets easier looks at point shots, it could improve our results so much.
No doubt
It seemingly is as hard to bring in a crease clearing d-man as it is a 40 goal guy lol
I would love to be able to have a few guys who are going to make the opposition pay the rent... I have seen to many guys with size, just have a hey day against us.
I'd be fine with either of those. I do NOT want to see;
Darche - Nokelainen - Palushaj
The problem with your lines, as I see it, is that Cammalleri - Plekanec - Gionta are an ineffective combination. I don't know where the blame lies but they just don't work together. I am far happier with the Moen - Eller - Kostitsyn line and wouldn't mess too much with it right now

Yep, I would too. Our lone physical defenseman is Emelin and he is still learning the ropes in the NHL. I hope Martin doesn't forget about him

I believe in watching that 24/7 Pens Cap show, the GM made the call as to the players being called up / sent down, yea the GM has a meeting with the coach to get his input in terms of how players played, but its the GM's decision.
If PG had to ask JM, and consult with BG and whoever else, taht would be too many cooks in the kitchen.

I agree it doesn't work well. What else could you go with?

In English, it's called a GM, by the way. Not a DG.
For the love of God we need to stop Kadri'ing him. Keep him in the AHL. All year.
Max Pacioretty was supposed to be hurt, people would have been beyond pissed off if the Habs had not recalled anyone and would've been short one forward for the game had Max been unable to play. Can you imagine? PG can't even do his job right! Now we're stuck with Emelin at forward because that moron can't manage a team!
Palushaj is the closest player to the NHL on the Bulldogs. I'm sure he was disappointed he didn't get to play, but at the same time, I'm sure he's very happy he's the one who gets called up.
Palushaj also has done a lot in the AHL already. So calling him back and forth like this isn't messing with his development as much as it would be with DeSimone or Dumont or whoever (except maybe Wilsie, but who wants him called up?).
I once thought Palushaj could be a decent 3rd liner, but there's actually no room for him in an offensive role and that's the only role he can play. Just like the guy he was traded for, he would probably mildly succeed elsewhere given enough time and space.

If any of our top-6 players get hurt, we'll be happy to have him. Then it will be his chance to make that player expandable.
Damn I wished that meant we called-up Conboy, Shultz or Henry for the game.
Henry is too limited for a regular shift, as is Schultz right now, and Conboy would run around like a headless chicken, until he'd get destroyed by Thornton, Lucic or Chara... IF there was a need for a guy from Hamilton, I'd prefer a guy like Dumont, would bring energy and could still be able to play correctly...

I totally agree with Dumont, we need an energy guy like him!
