I just wanted to create a thread for Paul Gaustad. I think he's a great rookie. He was the only thing there was to cheer about the other night vs the Sens. His fight with McGratten was awesome. I love that he doesn't give up and gave the fans something to cheer about. I think he's definately skilled and a great addition to the Sabres. I'm really excited to see how he will progress as the season goes on. He's a bright spot on this team and so I felt a thread for him was necessary.
Goose with the nice little goal last night too. It's just a shame.. we couldn't tie it up and then do to Montreal what they did to us on Friday night.. which was letting them lead the entire night only to win in the end. Ugh, these games can be so frustrating.
Yeah, I know it's crazy. Or like how Miller was such a late pick. How does that happen? Some of the later picks turn out way better than those in the first or second round.
There's only so much certainty in picking one 18-year-old from another. Some are better bets than others, but there's not a pick made that's a real 'sure thing'. Hell, I wouldn't be totally confident picking between 21-year-olds, much less between kids this young.
I have no idea what they were saying about Gaustad or Miller back in the day, but they have turned out nicely.
