Over Zuccarello and Avery?

Well, to be fair, I don't know much about him. What kind of player is he?

Big win tonight! Good luck to my roommate Andre Deveaux on getting called up #dowork
I'm a bit surprised as he looked poor to average in preseason. But by all accounts he's been doing well in Hartford.

A big body in front of the net can't hurt

Big & physical player. To me this signifies that Rupp may be out a little longer. Unless Torts really wants a pounding 4th line w/ Rupp & Deveaux in the lineup. He's a big boy and can scrap

What a joke.

A bigger, less mobile Newbury. Just what this team needs, another waste of a roster spot.

Really hope he doesn't get any games in...

yeah they all seem to do well in hartford with ken. Maybe torts can take a couple lessons from him, because when they get up here they all suck

As bad as he is, he is a upgrade over Christensen...IMO. Then again, I never played hockey and I'd probably be as noticeable as Christensen on the ice.

???

The difference between the AHL and NJL is massive, regardless of coaching. Not understanding your point, here.

Meaning torts can never seem to use their talent

@CarlHagelin reports that the #NYR have recalled Andre Deveaux. Logical choice. He's played well and fits in just fine as a 4th liner in NY
From Mitch Beck's twitter. He sees every game of the Whale.

Again, there is a massive difference between the AHL and the NHL. Just because a player produces at the AHL doesn't mean they'll produce at the NHL. It's not a matter of the coach utilizing their talent. In Zuccarello's case, maybe, but Deveaux has 1 point in 22 career NHL games. Clearly, he's not a regular NHLer.

He is good infront of the net on the pp, and he did beat up Muir after the late hit on Zuccarello. Other than that, his not much. atleast from what i have seen( preseason and 4 whalegames) But still has got 4 goals that should count for something.A goal scorer with no skill must be torts wet dream Im sure he will look good infront of the net on pp if he gets a chance, but thats not very likely is it?

But if skill and/or speed is what you want, this is not your guy!

Not an NHLer by ANY means. I'm actually pretty much... baffled. Deveaux? He was BAD in the pre-season in my opinion and he has no use other than dropping the gloves and attempting to throw his weight around. He's a big body, but he's not going to keep up and land enough hits to be noticeable. I just cannot see how he will help us at all. Newbury was ineffective and he is clearly better.

they obviously want to give Hagelin half a season minimum in Hartford. Deveaux looks like he's being called up to give us more physicality. I was at the game today and I think the thing we missed most was speed.

Playing well in the AHL and would fit in as a great 4th liner for the Rangers. Guess they are recalling Newbury... Oh wait.

What the **** difference will this make? ZERO!

Andre was overheard saying some very nice things about Torterella..... that's all you need to get called up.

With the disappointing results thus far Torts is no longer satisfied with needless line juggling, he's now resorting to needless roster juggling. I agree with you 100%. There will be absolutely ZERO difference. 6 minutes of Newbury or 6 mintues of Deveaux? Who cares?! I'm also relatively positive Newbury is better, as marginally as that may be.

Yeah, as a Leafs fan I saw this a lot. He'd put up some points in the AHL, play well and look really good. He's very suited for that league.

In the NHL, he's just a bad fighter and nothing more.
