Why, for 3 decent games ...we should all bow down to PG? Lets see how he does after 82 games.
He's paid a ton of money to perform, its the least Cole can do is earn his paycheck. Maybe Gomez will take notice.
He was doing pretty good before that but the pucks weren't going in for him, tons of chances in-close he helped generate that didn't get converted on. Fortunately the snakebite seems to have passed.
Who knew that 72 would be such a fitting number for him. It's the "opposite" of 27, and Cole's play is so anti=Kovalevian. He doesn't make a big impact on the scoresheet, but anyone watching knows he making good play after good play on the ice.

Haters gonna hate. Kovalev was the reason we were winning games when he was on the team.
It's amazing how Cole has transformed from one of the worse forward to the best. Although he hasn't gotten a lot of points, he has played very well recently. He seems very focused.
I just thought we should bump this thread seeing as how "****ing Awesome" Erik Cole is! Seriously though, its too bad the other lines don't seem to be able to create as many chances. Cole could easily have 10 goals this year with all the chances he gets. Great speed, physical, nose for the net, goes to the dirty areas...exactly the type of player we need! He's getting paid a lot of money, but if he continues playing like this, it's worth it..
Also of note, for those who complained that we could have gotten Ville Leino for the same salary...did anybody really notice him that much yesterday?
I said when he signed that deal he'd average 20-25 goals and 20-25 assists over an 82 game pro rated number. I like that they seem to be limiting his minutes a bit, so that he might remain fresher later in the season. I really like the idea of Cole playing 14:45 per night every night. Think about the extra jump he'll have in the playoffs since he's shaved nearly 3 minutes per night. Although when he gets really going I think his icetime will be very high anyways.

Cole was never one of our worst forwards. even when the points were not coming he was making things happen, throwing hits and generating chances. People love to blindly look at stats and evaluate players soely on that.
I find it pretty hilarious people are saying this is the best pick-up in the summer.
Cole as been OKAY at best. If I was GM, I would have not picked up Cole. He is not very good. He is just a little bit better than Gomez.
If I had a team you'd definitely never be my GM.
He's been an awesome addition, even when he wasn't scoring he was using his size and speed to hit and generate chances. Some people have no concept of hockey taht doesn't include goals and assists.

Lol,
Okay bruh. I hope you will be saying this when we miss the playoffs.
Huge fan of Erik Cole. Size, speed, hands, smarts, involved, hits a lot, talks to the kids on the bench. He stepped up as a leader on this team and I enjoy every minute of watching him play. We've needed exactly that kind of player for years.
But seriously, if we had signed Leino to the contract the Sabres did, and he was on pace for 20 points (while not doing much on the ice), I wouldn't be very happy right now...
