Lol at the guy wanting to show Voracek the door. He's not on the stat sheet recently and yea maybe he tries to make too many plays himself but honestly the guy ie strong on the puck and is learning q completely new system. He has some dangles in his back pocket and a good shot let him get acclimated to the team before we throw him out.

If anyone is going to get traded now (and it would have to end up netting us a good young defenseman), I would think it would be Voracek. He isn't producing like he should be, but he's still young, has tons of potential, is relatively cheap (2.2M), and is still an RFA, which means he has a good deal of trade value.
I bet you were campaigning to trade Hartnell before he broke out too

There's no doubt that recently every time we get a number 1 line rolling he is involved, so he must not be that bad a player. I wanted Hartnell traded so bad at the beginning of the year also. My wife on the other hand thinks he's real noticeable in games and that they should keep him. So now I get to hear the I told you so's. LOL

Easy there buddy.

I never said I wanted to show Voracek the door.

I simply said that due to Hartnell's new found chemistry, Voracek is the most likely forward to be traded (or the one I would look to trade).

Nowhere did I say that I would just dump him... he's a 50 point per season forward who has some room for improvement, and he's got a reasonable contract and he is still an RFA when it's up after this year. He's a very valuable commodity in the NHL.

All I was saying is that if we could leverage Voracek into a young stud defenseman, it's something you have to consider. This team has plenty of strong young forwards... it's a surplus for us. So when Schenn comes back, I'd definitely be exploring trading one of the forwards for a young #1 or #2 defenseman and Voracek makes the most sense.

I wouldn't be against the idea of trading voracek for someone like Schenn(who the fanbase have soured on immediately, after a rough start)

Just to clarify, he is talking about Luke Schenn of the Maple Leafs.

And I agree... this is definitely a trade I would make (once Brayden returns from his injury. If we made it before that point, it might leave us a little short-handed from a forward perspective).

It's still early as far as Voracek is concerned, but that would be a good trade that would make sense from our standpoint. I know its nice having a lot of scoring depth, but we're going to need help on D.

I'm not sure its feasible, or really the right timing though. It would however, be a preemptive way to replace Carle or Coburn.

Told ya lol. Nah, seriously, I've also been really impressed by him lately, wasn't expecting that much. But the 4th line was totally absurd for a player of that caliber. I just hope he keeps up something good.

Scott Hartnell is tied for 2nd in the NHL in Even Strength Points.

He still leads the Flyers in Production Time (minutes per point produced).

Is it me, or did a lot of players on both teams have a case of Hartnellitis tonight? There were players falling for no reason in all three zones. Lilja I can understand because the puck is, you know, heavy and bouncy.

I noticed that too. It mostly seemed to be on the left side of the ice (on your TV screen). Maybe there was a puddle or something that we couldn't see.

No Hate here for Hartnell.......He is one tough customer out front and in the corners, and MANY teams would love to have him on their club, especially come playoff time.

Hartnellitis? You mean his shot? Sean played a very good game. When he gets stronger he could be a beast in the slot. JVR with a nice goal and I thought Bryzgalov's save on Vanek was really special. He played a strong game. Leino better be happy that Buffalo's whipping boy right now is Miller because he is in a funk right now and for what they are paying him it will only be a matter of time before they turn on him. Oh well he is their problem now not ours. We got two points and I would have been happy getting one on the road. Well done with a depleted lineup. Rolling basically three lines.

Safe to say the guy has found his stride. Which is welcome news because Simmonds has been struggling.

He mentioned in post-game that he couldn't find his stride in pre-season, so I wonder if for some reason it took him longer to get into shape.

He didnt look bad with Briere, but right now with Talbot and Nodl he doesnt look good at all.

Hoping when Read and Briere come back, throw Simmonds back with Briere...

Obviously Hartnell is hot right now, but besides the offense he brings I really feel like Hartnell's presence is important for this team. They've lost a lot of grit with the departure of Richards, Carcillo, and Powe...guys like Hartnell (and Simmonds) who combine willingness to mix it up a bit with actual hockey playing ability are important.
