Who do you guys see making the first Tre Kronor EHT roster? I'm thinking something like this:

Martin Thörnberg - Johan Davidsson - Jesper Fasth
Andy Jämtin - ??? - Pär Arlbrandt
Jari Tolsa - Joel Lundqvist - Magnus Kahnberg
Jakob Silfverberg - Jonathan Ericsson - Nicklas Lasu

Mattias Ekholm - Magnus Johansson
??? - Magnus Nygren
??? - Jonas Fransson

Johan Davidsson announced his retirement from the national team out of lack energy a few days ago.

Hmm, not that i'm saying he should be in this tournament, but what are the rules like when it comes to a guy like Zibajenad? Is he eliglbe to play?

Videll is just too slow, I don't want him anywhere near the National team. He skates like the ice is made of syrup. Mårts also favours good skaters. Otherwise a good team! Allthough Johan Larsson wont be elected since he is a junior.

Reportedly, Brynäs players Calle Järnkrok, Jakob Silfverberg, Mattias Ekholm, and Simon Bertilsson will be named to the roster.

http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportblade...cle13860659.ab

In other news, SVT won't be carrying the EHT this time around. Viasat seems to have acquired the rights.

Others that will play at Karjala are goalies Gustaf Wesslau and Viktor Fasth, and forwards Nik Persson, Andy Jämtin, and Nick Danielsson.

Bah, I'd be fine with Viasat if they just got rid of Calle Johansson (who is ok sometimes) and Johan Tornberg. *shivers*

This is a bit off topic, but does anyone know who owns the rights to this years Junior Championships? Couldn't find anything when googling a bit, I seem to recall Viasat/Tv4 (god no) being interested in that too. Poor SVT!

How come Nygren didn't get a chance? He has earned it a lot more than for example Bertilsson.

I agree that Nygren should be there, but I don't think that Bertilsson and Nygren were competing for the same role. Bertilsson will likeley have a more defensive role. But I think Nygren should've been chosen over Mattias Karlsson.

Sure, or in stead of Karlsson. The national team has had a hard time finding good offensive d-men that shoots right in the past. If you look at the last couple of WC's there has been the same old guys, Åkerman, Magnus Johansson, Strålman and 35-year old debutant Petrasek. Heres a chance to get a young guy that is great in PP and have a killer rightshot. They should give him a look this season.

Thank good for Karlsson, Rundblad and Larsson, if it wasn't for them we would have to go with Magnus Johansson for the next olympice too. Righthanded PP-defenseman has been very rare in swedish hockey.

He found the net but he's overall play been rather weak IMO.

His job is to score goals, though. That's how he's judged, he's never been a great all-around player.

Lundqvist's the first player to have to back out due to injury. He'll be out until the next EHT break with a fractured jaw (thanks for that btw, Modo).

Hope Silfverberg gets a lot of icetime. How has he been this year? I've heard really good things. Any chance this will be on TV?

Well, it will be on Swedish tv There's not gonna be free streams coming out of Sweden(not even for Swedes), but maybe the Czechs/Finns will come up with something.
