How is turris a headcase???? Hes an RFA. He has the right. Not to mention Phoenix have screwed his development as they do with many players.
Im proud of turris for standing up, which is his right. hes a top 5 player in his draft and is only looking out for his hockey career.

Hickey frankly isn't good enough for me to care.

And Voynov will be here again soon. At some point during this season because of injuries and permanently after this season.

Totally agree with you regarding both players.

Hickey certainly isn't anything to write home about and Monarchs fans will enjoy Voynov as long as he's in Manchester as he won't be here come next season.

Hickey's fine.

He just needs to be given an opportunity.

Hickey is terrific, probably better than Martinez, but overall there really isn't any room for him and Martinez is a cheaper option. Hickey needs to be dealt, he is NHL ready and it will just hurt him and his value to keep him down any longer.

How is Hickey terrific? Martinez didn't make the team because of luck or money he made it because he beat out Hickey flat. Hell, at the time Muzzin beat out Hickey and now Voynov. That's 3 guys before you get to the NHL that Hickey didn't beat.

Guy may have a decent NHL career but sometime somewhere he has to beat someone out and not just run around and talk about how he was a 1st round pick.

I'm pretty sure he meant that Hickey's terrific now, not back then. Right now, Hickey is nhl ready much like Voynov. Unfortunately, we're just too deep on defense.

Are you for real? Hickey was one the Monarchs better D men last year. Is also a plus player to start this season.

There is nothing wrong with Thomas Hickey.

One of means he was the the 2nd at best and more likely 3rd d-man down in Manchester.

Dude may make the NHL but it's not going to be with us.

Isn't that the truth.....guess us seeing him play game in and game out just doesn't count! I don't think Hickey is as bad as he was last year, but he's got a long, long, long way to go.

That comment about Hickey being great looked a bit strange to me, but I kept my mouth shut because I just haven't seen him play lately. So what is his story? I thought that his chances of ever making NHL are all time low. Right or wrong?

Voynov will be back, perhaps sooner than later if Greene continues his sloppy play.

Hickey looked great in the preseason. He actually looked as good as Voynov imo. Main difference was that VV was given more quality minutes than Hickey.

I'm not worried about Hickey.

And how often does a 21 year old kid demand a trade because of the team/city? Turris has already said money isn't the issue. He just wants out.

I'm not saying he IS a headcase. he could be perfectly fine. But it's rare a kid his age tries to call the shots on where he's playing like this. So I'd be fearful he COULD be a headcase.

Not saying I would actually do it but I would definitely consider it. So now that I have had a moment to think about it, I would. VV takes doughty's spot and Nash takes us to the next level. Now we just need DL to pick up the phone

Not me.

People seem to think that because Nash has put up decent numbers in Columbus without a lot of talent that suddenly, if you put him with a guy like Kopitar he'll net 100 golas a season or something.

He won't. Nash is a good, first line winger with nice size and leadrship who will get about 35-40 goals a season. Would that be a great fit on this team? Sure would, but not at the cost of Doughty. Nash has to be one of the most overrated players on these boards.

Heh, I had entertained that very trade myself few weeks back. Initially, you cringe a bit but at the same time get excited about the possibility.

Columbus may have to add some salary but value wise, it's pretty fair.
